Hi Beach Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Sakhu

I usually have a habit of looking through the negative reviews of a restaurant before deciding to eat. I was surprised to find that many well rated (4+star) seafood restaurants in Phuket somtimes have 1 star reviews mentioned food poisoning after their meal. I thought that that could never happen to me, and maybe those are likely fake reviews. I rarely one to post a negative review.

Unfortunately this time I did also suffer from food poisoning with nausea, diarrhea, and muscle soreness the morning after dinner at Hi Beach. The dishes were all actually quite delicious, but I don't think it is worth the risk for you if you are going to order seafood here.

I specifically suspect the culprit to be the oyster sauce mussels I ordered. Instead of the mussels being played fresh in shell, the dish arrived with all the meat was removed from the shells already.

I was sick all of the next morning until afternoon. If you want to be safe, avoid the mussels...

An excellent little bar on the main road adjacent to the beach. The owners Fiore and Fabrizio were very welcoming. Whilst local food was served they also produce Italian food of course and it was a welcome change to opt for a caprese salad and pizza.
