Trader Vic's at Anantara Hotel in Bangkok Thailand is a must-visit for any Sunday brunch lover. The food is absolutely delicious, the service is impeccable, and the atmosphere is simply magical.
The first thing that struck me when I walked into Trader Vic's was the stunning view of the Chao Phraya River. The restaurant is located right on the riverbank, so you have an unobstructed view of all the boats and activity. It's a truly breathtaking setting.
I started my brunch with the Mai Tai, which is the signature cocktail at Trader Vic's. It's a mix of rum, orange liqueur, lime juice and orgeat, and it's perfectly balanced and refreshing.
For my main course, I had the Hawaiian Pork Chops. The pork chops were cooked to perfection, and they were so tender and juicy. They were served with a delicious pineapple and mango chutney, and a side of mashed potatoes.
For dessert, I had the Mango Ice Cream. The ice cream was made with fresh mangoes, and it was so rich and creamy. It was the perfect ending to a perfect brunch.
The service at Trader Vic's was also impeccable. The staff were all very friendly and attentive, and they made sure that I had everything I needed.
The atmosphere at Trader Vic's is simply magical. The restaurant is decorated with Polynesian-inspired décor, and there is a live band playing Hawaiian music. It's the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of Bangkok and relax.
Overall, I had an absolutely amazing experience at Trader Vic's. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and unforgettable...
Read moreThis is not large restaurant so the spread of the buffet is a bit limited. That is expected. However, what we did not expect was the quality of the food - it is not consistent with the positive reviews we researched on the internet. First, the king crab legs in the seafood on ice station were very salty. Funny thing is that they put the same salty king crab on the all-you-can order premium a-la-carte menu. Talking about those premium items, the most disappointing item was the Lobster-miso. They were either overcooked or not fresh at all as the meat was mushy, not bouncy as fresh lobster meats should be. The prime rib is another disappointment, as it was not juicy and tasted like those you can find in a 1000 Baht per head buffet. Talking about price, the advertised price is 2800++ per person, though booking through various platforms will get you 10% or 15% discount. At this price range, there are just a lot of choices intown. Although food wise, this Sunday brunch did not meet our expectation, we did appreciate the very attentive services provided by the staff. The atmosphere of the restaurant is...
Read moreWe have been a frequent customers of Traders Vic's in the many years we have lived in Bangkok. The dining experience had always been exceptional and we have brought many clients there and supported them during the Covid Pandemic. Then recently they changed the menu...again. New chef so much is changed now. Why remove signature dishes and add super expensive entrées in a menu that is almost unreadable due to the tiny font size. One could spend hundreds of dollar for a meal for two and the food was never on this level to begin with. The buffet may be different since it's highly reviewed and rated apparently but our experience was negative on the last visit as a dinner guest on the patio due to the menu change and much higher pricing ($11.00 USD bottle water!) with fewer reasonably priced selections. The staff is excellent as always. The menu change and price complaint is not new with Traders Vic's. The same issue has been reviewed as long as 10 years ago. I may still go to the great bar but find a new favorite restaurant at...
