So this air-conditioned casual eatery had been on my Bangkok wishlist for ages, and when friends I trust, told me they had enjoyed their meal there very much, I decided to pop in for an early lunch. The place was not too full yet when we arrived around 11am and I noticed straightaway that all the customers were Thai – always a good sign when locals make up most, if not all of the clientele. After I asked our server a few questions which she couldn’t quite answer, to our relief, she handed us an English menu. That was a big help and I figured quite quickly what to order for the two of us (with some restraint exercised, mind you 😂): Creamy Omelette with Crab (300THB) – Crab Omelette, step aside. Here’s a gorgeous elevated take on the popular Thai dish featuring lusciously done eggs bobbing with chunky crab meat. A must-order in my opinion. Creamy Tom Yum Goong (small: 200THB) – I couldn’t not try their version and it was shiok. On the sour side with an ample amount of really fresh prawns and squid, we could slurp up the soup because I had asked for it to be less spicy (the staff kindly checked with us on that which I thought was very considerate). Stirfried Crab with Yellow Chilli (450THB) – When in Thailand, there is no such thing as too much crabmeat in a meal. I loved this mildly spicy dish which also included crunchy long beans and enough garlic to overcome an army of vampires. Thai Fish Cakes (160THB) – Incredibly springy, fresh tasting and appetisingly seasoned in herbs.
I need to return with a bigger group on future trips in order to indulge in many...
Read moreMichelin Bib Gourmand stir fry restaurant. Came at 3pm and I still have to wait 30 mins for my food to be served because the place was half full with customers, a good mix of locals and tourists like me. Chef is a one woman show so that’s why it took a long time. Wonder how long the wait will be if the restaurant was full.
And the service for foreigners vs locals is clearly different. Couple came in after me but they got their orders taken immediately. Maybe they are regular customers?
Ordered their Crab Omelette and Crispy pork fried with Basil. The omelette was a tad greasy but had large chunks of crab meat in it. Quite tasty. The crispy pork was a bit too spicy for me. I wonder if they will allows custom requests for less spicy.
Not too bad but I’ve had better at other...
Read moreThis is by far my most favorite seafood restaurant in Bangkok.
I have been coming back to this family-style seafood restaurant for more than 5 times in the last two months when I discovered this place.
This place serves one of the best fried garlic & salt river prawns in Bangkok. The chef, Anne cooks her dishes fresh every time. Nothing is pre-made, she always makes sure that her diners get to eat everything fresh and hot.
The prices of her food are super reasonable compared to the quality of ingredients used.
The restaurant is not too far from IconSiam and if you are looking for a local, yet super high quality seafood place to enjoy, I would strongly recommend you go try Anne’s amazing recipes.
I would return again and again and again. I just love her...
