Came here with friends and we ordered Sweet and Sour fried fish, Salted Egg Squid, Stir Fried Bamboo Shoot Clams, and Fried Chicken. 🤩

My friends loved the Fried Chicken, it was really juicy and crispy + the fried onion toppings definitely elevated the dish. My personal favourite was the fish which was fried well (super crispy!!) and the sauce tasted amazing, similar to Chinese style sweet and sour sauce. I ate everything including the vegetables in that dish hahaha. 😵‍💫 The clams were more subtle in flavour which helped balance out the intensity of the fish, I enjoyed how mild and mellow the dish tasted. Sadly, the salted egg squid was a bit of a disappointment. It wasn't fresh, and the squid was rather soggy. It still tasted good, but the texture was a bit off. Overall, food was great even though we're not too sure how authentic it is as the dishes tasted quite similar to Malaysian food (probably one of the reasons why there's a lot of Malaysians around here?)

For drinks, my partner and I felt like the Thai Tea we ordered was way too sweet. I saw other reviews calling it "indulgent" (what a choice of words), but it's not for me. We had to add water to dilute it a little so that it didn't taste like sugar syrup. 😔

The staff were welcoming and kind, which made our dining experience better! We had no issues with service at all, the food came relatively fast.

Atmosphere wise, it's a crowded place full of Malaysians, so it kinda felt like a food court back in Malaysia hahaha. Vibes are great though, and it wasn't super noisy when we came (around lunch hour) so that's a plus for me. It was just a bit difficult to navigate around the crowds because of how closely the tables...

We tried a few dishes beyond the famous fried chicken during our visit, and the experience was a bit of a mixed bag. However, the service was truly outstanding, particularly from one new staff member. The star of the show, the Fried Chicken, lived up to the hype, especially when paired with the sweet sauce. The chicken itself was crispy and juicy, and the sauce provided the perfect sweet-and-savory complement. A definite must-try! We were also blown away by the Steamed Fish with Lime. The fish was perfectly cooked, tender, and the lime-chili broth was incredibly vibrant, fresh, and tangy. This dish was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, the rest of our order didn't quite measure up. The Stir-Fried Squid with Salted Egg was disappointing. It was just so-so; the salted egg coating lacked the rich, grainy texture and deep flavor we were hoping for. Finally, a strong note on the beverage: the Teh Tarik was way too sweet. It completely overpowered the tea flavor and could use a significant reduction in sugar to be enjoyable. A special mention must go to the awesome staff, especially the new hire who collected my order at Table No. 1-1 on Thursday, October 9th, around 6:00 PM. She was lovely, friendly, and did a very good job ensuring our order was correct and our table was attended to. Exceptional service like this really elevates the dining experience! Come for the excellent Fried Chicken and the fantastic Steamed Fish with Lime, and enjoy the great service. Be prepared to skip the Stir-Fried Squid and perhaps order your Teh Tarik with less sugar.

Visited Kai Tod Decha (Bangloh) for dinner as it’s quite popular among Malaysian tourists — and now I understand why. The restaurant offers a spacious, comfortable setting, and tuk-tuk transportation is conveniently available outside at all times.

We ordered fried squid rings, nasi khaomok, pulut ayam, sweetcorn kerabu, iced milk tea, and iced green tea. Both drinks were requested with less sugar, and they turned out perfect — well-balanced and refreshing!

The nasi khaomok, however, didn’t quite meet my expectations. It was decent, but not the best I’ve had in Hatyai — worth trying once. On the other hand, the pulut ayam was absolutely the right choice. The sticky rice paired perfectly with the crispy fried chicken and crunchy fried shallots — delicious and satisfying.

The sweetcorn kerabu was a unique surprise. I’ve never had kerabu made from corn before — usually it's made from young papaya or mango — but this version was flavorful and refreshing, offering something truly different.

The staff were friendly and could communicate in Malay, which made ordering easier. We also noticed that they offer live water prawns for those looking for something extra.

Overall, a pleasant dining experience with great service, unique dishes, and a...
