I ordered salmon and they brought me tuna. I asked if it was salmon and they said yes it was salmon even though it looked like tuna. So I tried it, yup definitely tuna. I hate causing a fuss but it was kind of an expensive dinner for food on Koh Tao. I took the plate back since the service was very slow and the manager or owner (not sure which) asked if it cooked enough so I said "it's fine but I ordered salmon not tuna" then he just grunted and took the plate. After I sat down they quickly brought out my salmon. Generally no problems with the food. The issue we had was that we felt the staff and boss that night were very unfriendly and seemed to avoid our bench/table. Even as we left my friend was glared down by whoever was in charge after asking where to toss an empty bottle of water that he bought at the restaurant during dinner.

We did our best to not cause problems and for me that was a first taking food back. Usually if something is wrong I don't bother getting it fixed or I just wait till the server comes back but we didn't have an extra half hour to wait for them to come around to us. They definitely made me feel bad about asking to have the plate corrected. It's really too bad the staff was so rude because we enjoyed the atmosphere. Unfortunately I feel to awkward to visit again and so as a review of my experience it gets a one star ⭐ I'm sure you can have a great time there just beware of going on...

I ordered one breakfast, one iced Americano, and one hot Americano. However, I received two lattes instead of the Americanos. I'm absolutely certain about my order and this was clearly a mistake on the restaurant's part.

When I politely went to the counter to address this issue and verify the rest of my order, I encountered an unprofessional and distressing situation. A female staff member became visibly upset and, instead of acknowledging the error, attempted to shift blame onto me. She questioned another waiter, in my presence, about whether the mistake was my fault or the waitress's. This behavior was unacceptable and made me extremely uncomfortable.

I want to bring to your attention that Thai customers, like myself, are frequent travelers and potentially regular patrons to establishments like yours. However, due to this experience and the staff's unwillingness to take responsibility for their mistake, I won't be returning to your restaurant.

I hope this feedback helps improve your service for future customers. It's crucial that your staff handles order discrepancies professionally, takes responsibility for mistakes, and treats all customers with respect, regardless of their nationality. Blaming customers for staff errors is not only unprofessional but also damaging to your business reputation.

Cafe del sol||It was our first time visiting koh Tao and we last minute tried to find somewhere that had air conditioning, modern and good reviews at the cheapest price. We booked the minimum two nights and ended up extending here for an additional six nights. We intended on doing our open water dive course which we did through Golden divers who were great and one of the cheapest. It's a few minutes walk to their boar and the pier so great location for that. Cafe de sol is two apartments side my side on top of a dive shop. The cafe itself is across the road where you pick up the key. This place is a two minute walk from the pier so no need to get a taxi on arrival and departure. Lots of shops, restaurants, massage places etc nearby. Sairee beach is around a 20 minute walk along the pedestrian track that goes alongside the cafe - a few hills at start but not too much of a walk and that's where you'll find all the nightlife, more restaurants, shops etc. the rooms are a decent size, modern, clean, nice balcony and drying area for clothes, wifi very good, staff attentive to requests. We would stay here again if we came back. Debated staying at Sairee Beach to be closer but was quiet and convenient where we were and had everything we needed. Occasional noises at night which you'd expect but nothing to be concerned about, overall very quiet spot! Thank you to all cafe staff,...
