COMME CHEZ SOI — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Overall, not a good experience.

Firstly, the good stuff. The service was good and the servers polite and accommodating. The drinks - wine and prosecco were good and reasonably priced.

However, the food was not good. We had the tempura prawns to start and it seemed like something from the cheap frozen section of the supermarket. For the mains, we had the chicken burger and ribeye. The chicken burger was ok but the ribeye was way too fatty and extremely chewy to the point of being inedible.

Secondly, despite COVID-19 restrictions, nobody is required to wear a mask on the way into the place nor did any of the staff wear any.

To top off our experience here, the misting device for the plants went off from above all of the tables just after our food finished. It seemed a bit of fun to start with but after 15 minutes of being sprayed every 30 seconds or so, albeit lightly, with water - we were fairly damp which just about sums up dinner here.

Since we reside at the Utopia which is next to the restaurant and have had a good experience 2 years ago, we decided to have our X-mas-eve dinner there. As we arrived just the day before, I booked from home. We wanted a lobster (which they usually do not have on the menue) and the chef organized one.

As we arrived at this very unique laid out restaurant, we were greeted friendly and escorted to our table. This was the tone, the whole evening went on. Friendly, quick and descreet service with a nice laid-back, relaxed athmosphere.

All courses were absolut delicious and prepared to the point. The lobster was a Xmas-poem!!! A wide selection of great wines rounded up this great experience.

Of course does quality like this has it's price. But this is money well spent.

In the meantime we have been back and definitely will do so again during our stay on Koh Samui

I recently had the pleasure of dining and I have to say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambience of the restaurant was cozy and elegant with warm lighting and elegant decor.

As for the food, everything we ordered was just outstanding and well decorated. The main course was cooked to perfection and served with delicious sides, which complemented the main course perfectly. Portions were generous and every bite was delicious.

I highly recommend saving space for this. It was the perfect balance of sweetness and richness, with a stunning presentation that almost looked too good to eat.

All in all, highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience on Lamai Beach. The food is outstanding, the service is attentive and the ambiance is just right. Definitely worth a visit and I'm already looking forward to my...
