Horrible experience & FOOD POISONING. EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE.
We decided to eat here after checking the reviews except we didn't get anywhere close to a 5star rated restaurant experience.
When ordering for 2 people we asked if the 100baht rice&pea dish had more rice than 2 steamed rice bowls at 30baht each, since from our experience pictures are never to scale in Thailand, the owner said yes it is more than 2 steamed bowls but when it arrived it looked like barely more than 1 bowl of steamed rice.. So 70baht for cooked peas??? When I confronted the owner about the rice and how he misinformed us (felt more like a trick since I specifically asked and confirmed twice with him that yes it is a bigger dish than the 2 bowls combined) he said yes it's for 2 people look: and he takes the spoon and splits the rice dish in two, pushing the rice to either side... I was appaled and complained and asked for more rice like he promised there would be and he responded with "you can't do that, you know this is a business.. I'm trying to run a business here"
We had also asked if they had water, they said yes only small bottles, so they brought over 2 bottles, not telling us the price. Doesn't the restaurant charge 30b per SMALL water.. Maybe that was our fault for not confirming, but they should also mention it before bringing it and surprising the customer with the bill. Note to self: bring your own water from 7-11 a 1.5L is 13baht.
For the food: tasted great but the portions were so small for the price, I assume it's the cost of the spices and the fact that he's trying to run a business and make profit and not actually serve customers and make them happy so they come back. For the food poisoning, I have no idea what was put in the dishes we ordered but we never felt that way before and we eat Indian often enough. My stomach was so destroyed and I was in so much pain I felt like my upper stomach was going to explode, I spent half the night writhing on the bathroom floor and my SO freaking out yelling to call the ambulance because of my screams and crying pain.
TO THE READER: DO NOT EAT HERE. Go somewhere else, there are dozens of restaurants and even better Indian places on the strip. DON'T TAKE THE CHANCE.
To the owner: not sure if you want to continue running your business, in fact I'm not sure you've ever run a business before, but your customer is your #1, the customer is everything. Lying to them about portion sizes, over pricing essential things like water, and instead of apologizing for your mistake you tell the customer you're trying to run a business!? Try running a business without...
Read moreIf you’re in the Lamai Beach area and looking for a cozy spot with delicious food, I highly recommend checking out this little restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting, and our server, Ram, was incredibly hospitable. He took the time to chat with us and even gave some great recommendations on what to try.
The highlight of our meal was definitely the Paneer Butter Masala curry—rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. The paneer was perfectly cooked, and the spices balanced out the creaminess just right. Paired with some fresh naan, it was absolutely satisfying.
The Chilli Chicken was another standout dish. It had the perfect amount of heat and was packed with bold flavors. The chicken was tender, and the sauce was tangy and savory with just the right amount of spice to keep things interesting.
All in all, this little restaurant is a true find. Great food, fantastic service from Ram, and a lovely ambiance—what more could you want? I would definitely come back next time I’m...
