Regrettably, I must assign a one-star rating, and if I could give none, I certainly would.
In all my years of reviewing, I've refrained from awarding a single star to any restaurant, understanding the hard work behind each endeavor. However, my experience at this restaurant shattered that precedent.
My anticipation for the Great British Fish 'n' Chips turned into disillusionment. The supposedly great fish lacked taste, offering only a dry Atlantic cod. The curry sauce and mushy peas were equally flavorless, with the latter emitting a peculiar, unpleasant odor akin to old peas. (Chips also worst and you have to pay more 120.- for them)
Turning to the pies, I eagerly ordered the steak & kidney pies, only to receive a disappointingly cold pie nestled inside a paper meal box.
Throughout my time there, I couldn't shake off the overwhelming disappointment. As someone who loves and enjoys food, I strongly advise seeking culinary delights elsewhere on the island. Even the instant food at 7-11 seems like a preferable option. Bon appétit, but not at this establishment.
P.S. The prices are also overrated compared to what you receive. Let this restaurant go, fellas; they are not worth it. ——— Surprisingly, your attitude towards customer reviews.
I would like to clarify that I’m not the owners of any business, as mentioned in your reply quote; I’m just individuals who work six days a week. I enjoy trying new restaurants whenever possible and came across the reviews for your restaurant , prompting us to give it a try. It is crucial for businesses to handle customer feedback professionally, and we hope the feedback takes this input seriously to enhance...
Read moreIf you’re craving an authentic taste of the UK while soaking in the beautiful island vibes of Koh Samui, look no further than Great British Fish and Chips. This little gem delivers a traditional fish and chips experience that is nothing short of perfection.
From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the warm, friendly staff who make you feel right at home. The atmosphere is cozy yet casual, ideal for a quick bite or a relaxed meal with friends and family. It truly captures the charm of a classic British fish and chip shop, but with a tropical island twist.
The fish is incredibly fresh, flaky, and fried to golden perfection. They serve it with a crispy batter that is light, crunchy, and not greasy—just the way it should be! The chips are thick-cut, perfectly cooked, and seasoned just right. Whether you go for the classic cod or the equally tasty haddock, you’re in for a treat.
What sets them apart is the attention to detail, like the traditional accompaniments—mushy peas, tangy tartar sauce, and a generous wedge of lemon. They even offer vinegar and salt, so you can enjoy your meal just like you would back in the UK.
To top it off, the portions are generous, and the pricing is reasonable, making it great value for money. Whether you’re a Brit missing home or simply someone who loves great food, Great British Fish and Chips is a must-visit in Koh Samui.
I can’t recommend this place enough! It’s an island must-try, and I’ll definitely be back. Five stars all...
Read moreAfter seeing the advertisement, today, I went all the way from far to try the fish and chips. Jeez, what an awful experience … THE BLAND TASTE .. First of all, we paid fairly good price for fish and chips. But the chips were simply hand cut boiled and oiled potatoes… no salt or any flavour whatsoever. Then, we took curry sauce and it was horrible. The fish batter was super bland of course . The only star of the platter was the TARTARE SAUCE which was sooooo little in a plastic cup ( don’t know what it was doing in a plastic cup) for the price we paid . It was super DISAPPOINTING. I was stupid enough to try. I just love to explore new restaurants and enjoy the food on Saturday afternoon after the busy weekdays. And then, when you go all the way from my place to Bangrak ( which is already so far and go with high expectations) , that’s a super disappointment. Of course will never go back. And,...
