If you are looking for authentic Thai seafood, My Friend Restaurant in Koh Samui is the place to be! The food is excellent – fresh products, big portions, and truly local flavors. The menu has a wide variety of Thai seafood dishes, all cooked in a very authentic style.

What I love most is that the prices are very affordable, not tourist prices at all – you get real value for money. This is more of a local spot than a touristy one, which makes it even more special. I’ve been living in Thailand for over 14 years, and I can honestly say this is the kind of place that serves the real Thai flavors.

The restaurant itself is simple and clean, nothing fancy in terms of décor, but the service is quick, friendly, and very much local style. The cutlery and plates may not be luxury standard, but the taste of the food more than makes up for it. Plus, the view is fantastic, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a relaxed meal.

This is the real Thai Southern food. The taste of every dish is very original/ authentic Thai. For someone who reviewed that it’s bland because you ordered the wrong menus 😂.

Normally, for Thai ppl we don’t order fried rice in authentic restaurant if we don’t really want to eat it.

The taste of Yellow soup with seabass is very strong and on point. (very spicy with herbs forward and salty) ps. Not recommend for Thai food beginner otherwise you can order as almost no spicy.

The dish that I recommend for non- spicy ppl is fried squid with coconut milk. This one is so good and well balance.

All nam prik menu is very Thai. I ordered Shrimp spicy paste (Nam Prik Kung). It tasted very bright from lime and garlic but it’s very spicy also. So please order no spicy if you want to try.

In conclusion, I recommend this restaurant for Thai & local nearby ppl. It’s a must and affordable real Thai resto.

For tourist, you should order everything with no spicy but pls get out your comfort zone. Let’s explore some new menu that you never try from tourist...

Stunning beach and sunset views, lovely people, good prices, great food especially the Thai food. This was close to Replay where we stayed for a month so ot became our 'go to' place. The food and service was always great and we have so far always got a table overlooking the ocean. The views and breezes are lovely. The food has been consistently good and once was the best restaurant food we have experienced anywhere! High praise indeed. The dishes where the red curry with pork and the panang curry with vegetables plus roti and rice. We think they made the curry paste and curries freshly for us and the result was heaven:) and only 200 baht per curry. Wish we had taken a picture as the cook knew how to present food as well but it smelled too good and we woofed it down. Have taken other pictures...
