Omsin Restaurant — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Walking down the road in search of a real Thai food stall, the first thing we saw here was a sign in English that said 'Thai food', which is not necessarily a sign of authenticity. Upon closer inspection however, we noticed this is a family business, with an older gentleman at the back, a playing child and a couple chopping and wokking, obviously doing a brisk business catering to a Thai clientele. People were coming and going on their bikes to pick up soups in plastic bags and meals in boxes. So we gave it a try and were not disappointed - quite the contrary. We had a spicy, tangy papaya salad, a fragrant green curry and a stirfried dish with paprika and chicken in an oyster sauce, loaded with umami flavours. The friendly owner offered us a nice dessert of sticky rice with cocos and mango. And the beer was really cold! We loved the place and will certainly come back to try out the other dishes....

Met the happiest person in Thailand here!! Run by a cute couple, it has a customizable noodle bowl with choice of broth, noodle & meat. A humble and lively place, with many people enjoying their soups and a Chang's beer! 😍 The gentleman was just SO happy 🤩 He excitedly explained the menu, how it works, asked us about our stay and where we're from. His little kid played with the customers there, they seemed to all know each other. We placed our orders and noodle soups arrived, beautiful depth of flavors in the broth, delicious topping, I was brave and tried quite a bit of the shrimp paste and polished it all down with my favorite Chang's! I cannot stress enough just how happy the owner here was. It felt good to just be around his energy ⚡ Wish we could have come back again! 🤩 Would highly recommend going here for the food, service, experience and to meet the happiest...

“Don’t judge a book my it’s cover”. My Personal favorite eatery in Bophut area and one the best Thai food I’ve ever had in my years of traveling around different parts of Thailand.

Loves it so much that I Visited 3 times in my 4 day stay. Don’t be put off by the simple and casual dinning space. The food here is amazing! Especially love their Tom yam goong which is just the right spice, sour and savory! Family run business with locals also dining there. Also love their som tum which is not too sweet, well balanced and very refreshing for a meal on a hot day! Good prices for the yummy food! Tried different dishes (Laab moo:Thai spicy pork salad, squid panang curry, chicken green curry) and most were good! Highly recommend and surely we will return when we are...
