This is a difficult one to review Let me just say that the food is excellent. I had the ‘spicy curry’ and it’s the first time I’ve had actually spicy food rather than a milder ‘tourist’ version. It tasted incredible and it was a good portion. The food is made incredibly fresh and made to order one by one by the owner and her wok. The problem is that because of this, service is insanely slow. We waited over an hour for 2 mains. Everyone sitting in the restaurant looks miserable because they’re all waiting ages for food and it just ends up spoiling your evening/means you can’t make other plans. We ordered 2 drinks: one fruit shake and one can of ice tea. No drinks were brought to us for 45 mins so eventually I went up and asked. The woman cooking said she didn’t have time to make the fruit shake so that was the end of that. And the cans are all in a fridge which is self service although we weren’t told this… You have to write your order down on a piece of paper and take it to the kitchen. The poor service is mostly down to the fact that it is the owner’s husband managing the tables by himself and he speaks no English so can’t communicate anything e.g. sorry we aren’t doing fruit shakes this evening… If we asked him anything he just directed us to the kitchen to ask his wife who could speak more English but was in the middle of cooking haha
The tables and chairs are just plastic garden furniture which is fine for a cheap (quick) eat but not if you’re waiting for the time we were waiting.
They need to expand their kitchen to not just be one wok/hob/person, and hire someone to serve customers who can actually speak to...
Read moreThis meal is worth the wait! The owner, Apple, does everything from serving to cooking to cleaning. Been in Thailand for 4 weeks now and this is the best curry and meal I have had yet! We have been here three times already during our stay and every menu item is delicious. The Panang curry is sooooo tasty and hits every flavor note you want it to. The Fried Chicken with cashew nuts is a little sweet, a little spicy, and has amazing crispiness.
If it is busy then you can help Apple out tons by tidying up your table after eating and you can even use the order paper to take your own order. This way she has less to worry about and can focus on making you the best Thai dishes you will ever have!
The portions are hefty and the rice is piled high, so come ready to eat and leave full!
The earlier you come the better since there aren't many tables, but Apple makes you feel like you are her guest and makes you an excellent meal!

Read moreThe food was really good when it turned up, but the service was awful. The lady was running the show by herself and I have so much sympathy and understanding for that. But she was really rude to us, gave us somebody else’s food, complained to me about what I ordered because if I had chosen something different then she could have cooked it together with somebody else’s dish. I’m happy to write my own order down, take it to the bar and serve myself my own drinks from the fridge. But it’s not the customer’s duty to remember who ordered ahead of us. There are no signs or any indication that you need to get your own menus and order your own stuff either so you sit there like a melon for 15 mins until you realise. When she gave me the pen and pad to order, she threw the pen into a dish of sweet chilli sauce which I had to fish out and clean lol.
If you have the patience to eat here, the Penang curry is pretty delicious. Gets a 2 star because the food is actually good but the experience was...
