I ate new years there. Protein was delicious, the Rest really bland. For that prize i expect way more than some good cooked Chicken/pork/lamb with tasteless Sides....
As i cant answer to the reply from the owner, i write it Here: answer from owner: "I am very suprised to read this poor review aspecially as you say the meat was delicious .. everyone got a welcome drink, a roast dinner and a dessert and all the guests i spoke to this evening had an..."
Like i said, the Protein was good. The other Side i didnt Like that much (but maybe i Just dont Like the british way of doing Sides, that wouldnt be a big Deal for me) BUT: charging 490-750 for the new year roast should also come with a Higher service towards the customer. I still was eating my food and the waiters startet taking all the Plates from all the other people (at this prize, people should know that this is Not nice manners as i am still eating!) But what topped all this is, that they startet brinning all the Desserts but my Main dish was still left on the Table. For that prize you should be able to properly make a difference between the Mains and Dessert. Once again, the Protein was good. The Sides maybe werent my Personal favorites(all Not an probelm) but paying that prize for what you get is a disapointment in my opinion for new years Dinner. The Service was basically Like at a local Thai Restaurant, but thats Not what you normally paid for in my opinion! For me it was way to less what we got for that prize and i would Not recommended to eat there for a Special occasion at all, as for that prize level you get way better service at many, many other restaurants on Koh tao!
So thats why for me it is 1/5 Stars as i paid quite a Bit but got a service Like If i eat at a streetfood...
Read moreTerrible service. I had called ahead and I was was told that we can't take away unless we had our own multi use container. I mentioned gently that as a tourist I don't carry around Tupperware. (My wife is pregnant by the way and craving desert) after being told flatout that I would have to try to buy my own Tupperware we decided to ride out and eat there instead. Upon arrival nobody came to take our order, walked up to the counter and was told that they were too swamped (there was only 1 table of 8 partially served) and a table before us had waited 45 mins for their food. Another couple had left without eating. I was told that we would have to wait for 45 mins for an apple crumble. When asked if it was freshly baked the staff said it was premade and frozen or chilled. 30-45 mins wait for a frozen apple crumble to be microwaved. The service staff looked bashful and simply said they didn't "have time" to take it out of the fridge to heat it up.
Edit after owner response, photo attached:
See owner response for case in point of poor customer service. Iam surprised you took the time to write a rude response and include Racist remarks and negative social stereotypes. Incidentally I am neither "Thai nor high so". And implying that shows how little you care for any customer service.
I myself will not stoop down to sling accusations about your nationality or way you choose to run your business.
To readers of this review, I would say all businesses suffering during this tough time. By traveling and spending money customers are playing a part in reinvigorating the economy and helping small businesses.
You decide if you want to patronize a rude racist business or the other 100 kind businesses that are...
Read moreHad a pretty bad experience in here tonight. Initially turned up not long before the roast dinners were set to finish, but unfortunately all sold out. No issues there, apparently they’re very popular. So we ordered off the main menu instead hoping for food of equal quality.
Was pretty let down with what we got. The Swedish meatballs were really quite bad. The mash potatoes were bland, yellow & congealed to look like something from a child’s kitchen set. The meatballs themselves were covered in gravy and still managed to taste of nothing at all & the broccoli cauliflower veg were definitely crunchy & undercooked (even if the owner believes they were ‘al dente’) - the cheese sauce again had no taste to it whatsoever.
The beef burger wasn’t ‘bad’, but wasn’t good either. A very dried beef patty with no real taste either. The side order of Mac & Cheese was completely stodgy and unseasoned also, with an appearance that it had been scrapped from a pot cooked earlier in the night and microwaved to death.
The Swedish meatballs were removed from the bill thankfully as they were almost untouched, but it felt as if the complaints fell on deaf ears. Overall I was surprised the plates passed any of the kitchen quality checks before making it...
