Windbeach restaurant — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

This happened is April 2025.

I was with my girlfriend. I ordered the fried pork. She wasn't hungry right away so she decided to wait before ordering. I finished my plate so I looked for the waiter to pay my bill. All was okay so far. My girlfriend got hungry so she decided to order a salad after that. After she's done, she went to the waiter to pay, he charged her for the salad AND my pork..... ???? I went back to contest the bill. The waiter said he couldn't recall me paying my bill (this was literally 10 minutes before, with very few customers in the restaurant, so how could he have forgotten me??? I'm also quite easy to recognize). We started arguing. He was very aggressive and unprofessional. I called for the manager. CCTV is always on so it'll easily prove I paid my bill. As a matter of fact, it was quite obvious that I had already paid my bill and the waiter tried to charge the amount twice. The manager was professional and polite (thank you for that) and gave us the refund.

As for the waiter, I do not know if he genuinely forgot that I paid my bill or if he was of really bad faith and tried to scam us. The fact that he insisted to watch the CCTV to be proved right is awkward shows he was absolutely sure that I didn't already pay. But his very unprofessional attitude shows more of someone who tried to scam tourist in the worst unorganized way possible.

Because of that, it left us with a very bad experience at the restaurant that I know I won't...

We went because they have bean bags to sit on and watch the sunset and the good reviews. We sat down for a long time and couldn't get anyone's attention. The restaurant wasn't even busy and there was a lot of staff around. The staff seem to be bothered when you even ask for a menu, which we had to ask for several times. When they finally brought a menu, it was only one menu so we had to ask for more. Seems like most people get the bbq directly from the guy at the grill so they seemed happy. Otherwise I would not bother coming back...

Great place to catch a sunset and have dinner. It’s got a friendly, atmospheric vibe. The view is gorgeous from any table. You can either sit at a table or lounge on bean bags while watching the sunset. They serve food pretty fast, except for grilled items which understandably take a bit longer. The staff is friendly and polite. When it’s busy, you might have to wait a bit, but the staff really hustles to get orders out quickly.
