Continuing our 60 day food safari of authentic Thai food in Bangkok and Phuket.
Tonight we went to Mama's House Sathorn, another local. This one is special because it's the collective recipies of the host's two grandmothers, with some of the recipes over 100 years old.
So we had betel nut salad (uses the stem rather than the nut itself), and a really old version of krab pow, chilli basil stir fry (shrimp). They were all excellent.
The betel nut salad defies explanation. We could tell it had Chili, palm sugar, lime, and stuff we simply can't explain. 8.5/10. 130B. Plus egg, crispy shallots, minced pork, and red onion.
The krab pow has less chili than usual, used crispy fried Thai basil, and probably a little more oily, but not an issue. It beautiful.
Because of the kindness of the host, we will be going back for some recipies that are not on the menu. It should be awesome.

The Pad Thai tasted like rice noodles with sweet ketchup. Also a bit pricey as we've eaten better street food for 50 baht per person versus 175 per...

Staff were very kind and helped me chose something to eat and made it vegetarian for me, it was delicious. And very reasonably priced too, should I find myself in Bangkok again I will definitely...
