Ginger Bowl is a charming little spot specializing in traditional Chinese desserts, and it did not disappoint. The warm, inviting decor, made for a cozy dining experience, though it was quite packed when we visited (always a good sign!).
The missus ordered the round dumplings in ginger soup (汤圆), which came with a perfectly balanced broth, spicy enough to be comforting but not overpowering, with chewy, satisfying dumplings. I went for the black sesame seed paste, and the first spoonful was a pleasant surprise, a hint of herbal complexity that elevated the usual nutty sweetness. (Maybe a touch of huai shan or another tonic herb? Unexpected but delicious!)
Highlights: ✔️ Authentic flavors with a slight twist – that herbal note in the sesame paste was unique! ✔️ Cozy, well-decorated space – great for a casual date or small group ✔️ Popular spot – clearly a favorite among locals (come early if you want a seat!)
Verdict: 4.5/5 – A must-try for fans of Chinese desserts, especially if you appreciate subtle, sophisticated touches. We’ll definitely be back to try the rest...
Read moreBooked the table in advance and arrived on time. We placed an order and waited at least for 25 mins to get a cup of ice and 10 mins later to get a bottle of water !!!! We had to chase our orders as noticed other tables were receiving their food but nothing on ours. We raised the issue after 40 mins and found out the order was lost !!! How could this be ? Not even a single waitress paid any attention that have we received any food or not. It’s terrible and the service is very poorly. All staff are not well trained and have no ideas in the catering business. The food was so blunt and really nothing special. I was hoping at least the food would be tasty But so disappointed with everything. First time for us and would also be the Last time as well. No recommendation from me. Not even an apology from a waitress or a...

The restaurant offers both food and desserts. With its distinguish style of Hong Kong/Chinese decor and its use of colour, the place offers an instant vibe of yourself dining in Hong Kong area.
As other reviewers here mentioned, the food seems to be just soso, hence, we are only here for the desserts. And it doesnt dissapoint. The ginger mik curd is pretty good, as well as the Chinese sweet dumpling as well.
Prices are quite high, but it was a good satisfaction experience all around. Place can get jammed pack quickly...
