Puponfai & Zapponfai — Restaurant in Rong Mueang Subdistrict

Ok the Pupinfai is 20 minutes by feet from Siam bts station. It’s somehow a nice area with lots of shops. I found Zapponfai via tiktok and so the Puponfai. As my favorite seafood restaurant closed over a year a go I had to find a new one. I ordered tha crab fried rice, steamed crab and raw crab and the fried giant river prawn. The weakest dish was the fried riverprawn. It was overcooked and tasteless, the provided sauce added nothing. Would rate this dish with a 2. Then the two crab options. The steamed one was ok, a 3-4. The raw one was better, but the provided fishsauce was far to salty and not really spicy. 3-4. The star of the show was the fried rice with crab. Flavorful and as good as Here Hai’s, 5. So overall a good 3 but not a 4. And why did I gave it a 1 star review? They are also cheating, they offer a 5% discount if you give them a 5 star rating here and this brings the shop a far to good...

The seafood here is really good! The crab is fresh, meaty, and served in generous portions. Price is a little on the high side, but it’s worth it because everything is so fresh. Better to pay a bit more for good quality than waste money on something not nice! Surprisingly, the curry crab here is even better than Somboon’s - to my opinion.
