Read moreI just had lunch at คำปอง a northern Thai food at Chula area. This restaurant specializes in dishes from the north of Thailand and has a cozy and casual atmosphereI ordered the khao soi gai, a noodle dish with a rich and spicy curry broth, chicken, and crispy noodles on top. The dish was delicious, with tender chicken, smooth noodles, and a flavorful sauce. It came with a side of pickled mustard greens, shallots, lime, and chilli oil, which added some freshness and tanginess to the dish.
I also tried the sai oua, a grilled pork sausage seasoned with herbs and spices. The sausage was juicy and smoky, with a nice bite and aroma. It went well with the sticky rice and the nam prik noom, a green chilli dip that was spicy and smoky.
For dessert, I had ข้าวเหนียวเปียกลำไย lam, a sweet sticky rice cooked Longan and topping with Coconut Ice cream. It was a satisfying end to the meal.
Overall, I enjoyed my lunch at คำปอง . The food was authentic, tasty, and affordable especially great service from the owner who are friendly and efficient. I will come...
Read moreWe had just arrived in Bangkok and were staying at the Mandarin Oriental hotel nearby. We decided to walk the neighborhood to find lunch and stumbled across this restaurant. Initially we passed by to head to the market down the street, but it was closed. Among the restaurants near this one, we chose this one because it looked charming and busy.

It was all so good! The food was presented almost exactly like the photos, even the plates matched the photos. Incredible.
I don't know if it's their specialty but the crispy pork belly is to die for. All 3 dishes were fantastic, and I wouldn't hesitate to go...
