Stepping into Kumpoy feels like entering a modern Lanna dream — warm wood tones, woven lamps, and touches of Northern Thai art in every corner. 🌾

The space blends traditional Northern charm with contemporary design — think bamboo patterns, soft earthy colors, and elegant golden accents. Every detail feels intentional, from the handwoven textiles on the walls to the ceramic tableware that makes each dish shine.

It’s cozy yet sophisticated — perfect for slow lunches, intimate dinners, or catching up over Northern comfort food in a calm, aesthetic setting. 🍃

💛 Must-Try Dishes: 🥩 Kumpoy Sawatdee Jaow Set – A perfect Northern appetizer platter with nam prik num, sai oua, fried pork, and crispy pork crackling. So authentic and flavorful! 🔥 Nam Ngeaw Volcano – A bold twist on the classic Northern noodle soup with spicy pork bone broth and rich flavors. 🍛 German Aew Nua – Crispy German pork knuckle with Chiang Mai-style curry noodles — east meets west in the best way! 🍨 Sticky Rice with Longan & Coconut Ice Cream – A sweet, soft finish that feels like home.

Every dish at Kumpoy tells a story — of heritage, family, and Northern hospitality served with modern elegance. 🥰

I just had lunch at คำปอง a northern Thai food at Chula area. This restaurant specializes in dishes from the north of Thailand and has a cozy and casual atmosphereI ordered the khao soi gai, a noodle dish with a rich and spicy curry broth, chicken, and crispy noodles on top. The dish was delicious, with tender chicken, smooth noodles, and a flavorful sauce. It came with a side of pickled mustard greens, shallots, lime, and chilli oil, which added some freshness and tanginess to the dish.

I also tried the sai oua, a grilled pork sausage seasoned with herbs and spices. The sausage was juicy and smoky, with a nice bite and aroma. It went well with the sticky rice and the nam prik noom, a green chilli dip that was spicy and smoky.

For dessert, I had ข้าวเหนียวเปียกลำไย lam, a sweet sticky rice cooked Longan and topping with Coconut Ice cream. It was a satisfying end to the meal.

Overall, I enjoyed my lunch at คำปอง . The food was authentic, tasty, and affordable especially great service from the owner who are friendly and efficient. I will come...

We had just arrived in Bangkok and were staying at the Mandarin Oriental hotel nearby. We decided to walk the neighborhood to find lunch and stumbled across this restaurant. Initially we passed by to head to the market down the street, but it was closed. Among the restaurants near this one, we chose this one because it looked charming and busy.

Our first meal in Bangkok! It was hard to decide what to order since the entire menu looked sooo good. We ended up ordering a stir fry egg dish of some sort, stir fried thai rice noodles with pork, northern thai fried pumpkin with coconut and lemongrass.

It was all so good! The food was presented almost exactly like the photos, even the plates matched the photos. Incredible.

I don't know if it's their specialty but the crispy pork belly is to die for. All 3 dishes were fantastic, and I wouldn't hesitate to go...
