If you donât speak Arabic or French, Iâd recommend avoiding this place.
I am giving 2 stars, with one additional star only for the food, which was decent. The first pizza was okay, although the second one I had was not good. However, the overall experience was disappointing.
First of all, I was really frustrated that no one spoke any English at the restaurant, even though the place has an English name â âFriends Pizzeriaâ â which might suggest that they cater to English-speaking customers. I donât understand why they donât use simple and free tools like AI to translate the menu into English to make things easier for foreign visitors. This would take less than two minutes and wouldnât require any knowledge of English.
Instead, when I tried to communicate, one customer offered to help with translation, but soon after, the staff started speaking to each other in French and laughing loudly. I felt really uncomfortable, unsure if they were laughing at me, and I didnât understand what was going on. It was quite awkward and a bit stressful.
In my opinion, if a restaurant has an English word in its name and relies on tourism, they should at least have some basic knowledge of Englishâor at the very least, translate their menu into English (which can be done for free with the help of AI). This could help avoid such situations and would certainly attract more customers.
Having basic English communication should be the minimum standard for customer service in a...
