Beylerbeyi Sarayı Cafe — Restaurant in Üsküdar

What could have been a nice experience in beautiful surroundings turned out to be a real disappointment. We didn’t have high expectations at all but it was even worse. The so called waiters (young people not knowing what they’re doing) were so slow, uncoordinated, inattentive and inefficient that was hard even to look at. The ice coffee machine was apparently broken and then a second later several glasses of ice coffee were served at different other tables. On the ground around the tables there were a lot of plastic cups, straws, napkins etc. which didn’t get any attention from the waiters at all. I asked for a glass which took 4 waiters ages to bring me. We were asked to pay the bill inside and there they told us to go outside and pay 🤦‍♀️ We will never spend our time and...

Alas, the service brings you down to earth. We waited to be waited upon, then we waited for a very long time only to learn that the server mixed up our order, bringing us the dish that does not exist in the menu (it‘s true that our Turkish is not up to speed, but they do have an English menu – would it be so hard for the servers to refer to it?).

And the worst: the concept of hand-washing seems to be entirely alien to the personnel of this establishment. Going directly from picking up and throwing out the garbage to putting utensils and food on the table is a good way to make people sick. That‘s the primary reason...

In a rainy day being with a baby with the place full, they were unable to separate so me tables because their register system didn’t allow it.
