Tarihi Çınaraltı — Restaurant in Üsküdar

From my point of view, Çınaraltı is the best restaurant in due to three main reasons. The first reason is that Çınaraltı has good food. For example, Çınaraltı’s food is fresh everytime. That place has freshly squeezed orange juice and lemonade and freshly caught fish every day. I think freshness of food and drinks is very important for health, so we should choose restaurants with fresh food. Also, Çınaraltı’s food and drinks are very delicious. This restaurant’s use of spices is very nice. That’s why the food is so delicious. The second reason is that the service. For instance, Çınaraltı’s service is very fast. İn this way, we can eat our food without waiting too long and we do not waste time. Also the waiters of this rastaurant are very kind. Therefore, we feel good in this place. The third reason is that the prices. Çınaraltı is cheaper than other bosphorus view restaurants. You won’t find a cheaper place in Çengelköy. Another example is if you want bring food from somewhere else, you can only buy drinks there. Thus, you bring food from home or a place more cheaper than Çınaraltı, you are just pay for drinks. I am not sure how come people are giving this place even 1 star. If there was no star I would have chosen that. The location is the best, but food and service is worse. I wouldn’t write anything if I didn’t see our waiter. He was having a skin condition which by looking t it seem to be boils and he had no gloves. His hands were covered with it and his face too. He was constantly scratching. His hands and belly from top of his shirt while serving everyone food. I have no problem with people working with any condition, but when you serve food you there are things to pay attention too. I couldn’t touch anything and we left. I will not recommend this place to anyone. It will be waste of money and the menu is not any different then an ordainey cafe in the side...

The place is right on the Bosphorus, with a great view. So it's always very crowded. Getting a table right next to the water is a challenge and, in my opinion, not even worth it as there's always so much rubbish floating on the water. The cafe owners should make an effort to clean the bay themselves if the city isn't doing it frequently enough. The nice thing about this cafe is that they allow you to bring your own food from outside and eat it there, but you must buy the drinks from them. They have food too, on the menu, but their main thing is tea and coffee. Prices are reasonable. The ancient plane-tree (çınar), which gives the location its name (Çınaraltı=Under the plane tree) is a must-see if you are visiting this lovely Bosphorus...
