Review by a traveler from abroad
We've (4 people) secured a New Year celebration reservation at this restaurant for £80 per person.
According to the fixed menu, we were provided with a starter, main course, dessert, and a 0.7-liter bottle of spirits for every four people.
The restaurant informed us that the evening festivities would commence at 7 pm. However, upon arriving an hour later, we discovered that the restaurant was only half full.
Later, we were informed that the main course would be served once everyone had arrived, and some tables only arrived as late as 10 pm... If I had known, I would have come at 10 pm too.
Except for our excellent waiter, who took great care of us all night, everything else was awful. Here's why:
FOOD The cold starters were bad, something you would expect for a price of 100 liras.Given the price of the set menu, one would anticipate a more sophisticated offering rather than just buns and spreads. (I was expecting served as canapes)
The hot starters were marginally improved, but one would still anticipate something more refined than a single large fried spring roll and fried crispy calamari. (I was expecting served with coleslaw or some brocilis atleast)
For the main course, I opted for a 200g tenderloin, which was excellently marinated and tender. Despite requesting it medium, it was served as medium-well, which was a bit disappointing.
The dessert was cranbulay, but unfortunately, it was served cold.
ATMOSPHERE The entire evening seemed tailored for locals rather than tourists, which was disappointing. The DJ exclusively played Turkish songs throughout the night, and the rest of the evening featured a violin. While I appreciate the violin, the music played had a sad and depressing tone. This is not the kind of music one would prefer for celebrating New Year's; there are upbeat violin tunes that encourage dancing, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case here.
I comprehend that smoking is widely accepted in Turkish culture, but they could have taken into consideration non-smokers. The smoke permeated everywhere, with people smoking in close proximity, and it was quite overwhelming.
FINAL TOUGHTS When we requested the bill at the end of the night, we discovered that we were billed for water. £80 per person set menu dint include water?
Was the set menu at £80 per person not inclusive of a few bottles of mixers for the 0.7-liter bottle of spirit?
Certainly not worth the money, it was the worst New Year's party I have ever attended. Next time, kindly inform customers if it's going to be a...
Read moreIn search of a dinner spot with a view, we came across this restaurant through Google recommendations. Although it wasn’t among the top results, we decided to give it a try—and, of course, we didn’t regret it. To be fair, we haven’t had issues with other establishments, but pricing can sometimes be unpredictable. Now, onto the recommendations for this place.
The ambiance is wonderful, with great attention given to both the interior and exterior design. The view overlooks Alanya, and it truly feels magical at night. The staff is friendly and immediately found a solution for a small issue that arose upon our arrival. They were polite and professional, despite the servers being dressed in a casual style.
The food was exceptionally delicious, and I believe this qualifies as fine dining. The open kitchen concept always inspires confidence. The dishes were beautifully presented, and the ingredients were fresh. Highly recommended, especially if you’re staying in Alanya for an extended period.
Prices are on the higher side, but if you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply wish to enjoy a beautiful atmosphere, flavors, and service, this restaurant is a must-visit.
Special thanks to the manager as well. We’ll...
Read moreFound Fiaba online when looking for a decent fish restaurant in Alanya. Most places do fish, though this one seemed to specialise. It was one of the best restaurant experiences we’ve had! We chose the 3 Fish main, King Prawn, Seabass and Salmon which came with potato gratin, salad and dressing which complemented all the tastes.
Everything was quality, from the moment we were greeted outside the door while taking photos of the gorgeous harbour view, to our last drink after food and sunset.
The music was lovely, the staff professional though in a warm way - they looked genuinely pleased at how happy we were with the experience. I also had the privilege of being introduced to the chefs, Enes and Ali to pass on our compliments. Yigit and Batu served us throughout the experience, one of which had been brought to work there by the head chef he’d previously worked with in another restaurant (a good sign!). He’s working there to help to fund his university degree in Mechanical Engineering for which we wish him luck and success.
Upper end costs for local restaurants, but we were very happy with just over £50 for a near Michelin...
