Midyeci Ahmet Beşiktaş — Restaurant in Beşiktaş

I live in Istanbul and liked this place a lot for years before. But I can’t say this anymore unfortunately:

1. first of all, the woman at the counter tried to scam me into paying 100 tl more than I should - she just “rounded up” my purchase to 1000 tl. When I asked why, she said the price per one sauced mussel was 16 tl (it was actually 15 tl and I took 60 pieces). Even 16 tl per piece doesn’t make it 1000. Obvious lie and an attempt to scam. Eventually, she returned the difference and apologized. But that was not a mistake, it was her conscious decision to scam.

2. Mussel meat is too small. You almost eat rice only.

3. Rice was overcooked and too oily.

Not sure I will return again despite being your customer...

I recently visited Midyeci Ahmet and tried their famous mussels. While the restaurant is known for its seafood, I found the dish a bit underwhelming. The mussels had a decent flavor, but there was an overwhelming amount of rice, which overshadowed the taste of the seafood for me. If you enjoy rice in your mussels, you might appreciate this dish more, but personally, I prefer a more balanced approach. The atmosphere was lively, and the service was friendly, but I’ll likely explore other...

Ortaköy e dogru olan şubesi aktifken hem yerinde yerdim hem de eve sipariş ederdim. Ozellikle kuyu kokorec ve soslu mideye de çığır açıcı lezzetlere ulaşmıştı... Bugün ilk kez Beşiktaş'taki yeni yerine gittim. Malesef nereden bakarsam bakayım, nereyi referans alırsam alayım bir yere oturtamadim. Çeyrek uzay istedim. Kupkuru, tahta gibi. Kokorecin bir lezzeti var yağı yerinde ama tüm suyu gitmişti ve kesinlikle birden çok kez ısıtılmıdi. Bilmiyorum, belki de stil olarak öyle yapılıyor ama benim Denizli' de, Keşanda, ya da adını vermek istemediğim, İstanbul'daki bu işin üstadı olan lokantalardan çok uzakta...ayıranlari iyi marka Özerhisar ama inanın o da ılık geldi, çok tuzlu ve çakalamama rağmen su oranı çok yüksek olduğu için homojenleşmemisti... Çok takılmam ama, tuvaletler de pis, sifon kırıkti... Sanki artik strateji "Ye de doy" olarak değişmiş, tıpkı adını vermek istemediğim burger markaları gibi olma yolunda, sürüme yönelimi bariz gözlemledim... Belki de düşündüğüm doğrudur. Sonuçta bu is özünde para kazanmak için...
