I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional staff at Tuğra Restaurant, especially to the head chef, Emre İnanır, for creating an unforgettable dining experience on my birthday. From the moment we entered, we were greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. Emre İnanır’s attention and expertise in crafting the most exquisite Ottoman cuisine made our evening exceptional. The passion and creativity that Chef İnanır brings to each dish were evident in every bite, leaving us in awe of the flavors and presentation. Not only did he elevate our dining experience, but he also took the time to personally engage with us, sharing his insights and making us feel incredibly valued as guests. Tuğra Restaurant surpassed our expectations, and I wholeheartedly recommend it as an absolute must-visit for anyone seeking a remarkable culinary journey in Istanbul. Thank you, Chef Emre İnanır, and the entire Tuğra team, for making my birthday celebration extraordinary!

Located inside Ciragan Palace, the restaurant prides itself on serving typical Turkish cuisine. The restaurant itself is decorated in a very traditional manner and has very spacious rooms with double height ceilings. The food was very savory and with a lot of flavor in each of the dishes. One can enjoy the views of the Bosphorus while enjoying their meal. We let our waiter decide most of our dishes in order to try their most popular plates and it did not disappoint. Our starters were a variety of traditional Turkish delights (cold mezze platter), as a main course I chose the braised duck in crispy baklava dough and it certainly was the right choice. We also had “Piruhi” which was a ravioli with beef and tomate sauce.

An underwhelming and disappointing experience. We are travelling in Turkey on holiday and had made dinner reservations for Tugra after seeing great reviews of the food and ambience. We were really looking forward to fine dining in Istanbul. Unfortunately, everything we ordered was appalling. The beef was tasteless. The lamb was bland and undercooked, and had to be taken back to the kitchen. The signature hot mezze and squid ink starters were uninspiring. As for desserts, the kunefe was definitely not fresh. It was room temperature when served and lacked any complexity of flavour. The service was perfunctory and they got part of our order wrong - an extra starter was served and charged - though they did rectify this when we brought it up. We adore Turkish food and have had delightful meals in Istanbul, Izmir and Cappadocia. We are happy to pay for quality meals but this was not one of them. Save your time, money and calories and dine elsewhere.

Exceptional restaurant within a palace. You had me at palace. The attentiveness of the staff was otherworldly, but the tasting menu, catered to vegetarian dishes was mildly lack luster. There was no difference in price for the veggie minded enthusiasts which was disappointing. The chef did go beyond in trying to remedy the already fixed menu though. Each portion was artfully presented and enjoyed. Overall the atmosphere was mildly stuffy. It’s an exceptionally beautiful space and we were lucky to have a stunning view of the Bosporus. Other tasting menus blew this one out of the park though, hence the missing star. But if you are looking for the experience and the impeccable history of the establishment.

Just like a dream. There are 6 tables in the terrace and if you want one you need to book well in advance. Service is attentive, the wine list ample, the views breathtaking. The mezzo sampler is delicious but the standouts are the stuffed grape leaves and the spoon salad. The signature dish (lamb cooked in a clay pot) is delicious. You won’t be rushed. Ask for the 7 pm seating and watch a beautiful sunset. You should seriously consider the glass of champagne at the beginning. Yes it will be very very overpriced, but when you’re done with your meal you’ll realize what an opportunity you missed.

Tuğra Restaurant at Çırağan Palace Kempinski Istanbul of Beşiktaş Istanbul is amazing, breathtaking views! Sit outside by the balcony & enjoy the views. Delicious platter starters, try the Chicken Main Course, well cocked, great staff & very professional, the staff are well educated, informed & aware about the Food Ingredients, they explained it well to us, the Mocktails are tasty & refreshing, the Kunafe Desert was tasty by adding extra Ice-Cream on a side. Very recommended to stay here & watch the boats on Bosphorus.
