Mom Steak Burger — Restaurant in Beyoğlu

While my husband and I were in Turkey for 2 weeks for our wedding, we stumbled upon this place after leaving the British Embassy just a couple days into our trip. We saw one of the owners of the restaurant cheekily coaxing us in with a menu, and we were immediately sold and went inside to grab some food. Had the classic cheeseburgers to start with.

Best. Burgers. Ever.

But wait, there's more! We continued coming back there - around 5 or 6 times - bringing our different wedding guests to have their tastebuds blessed by this glorious food. And by heaven, it was glorious.

We went through many of the different menu items, trying all the variety of burgers. Our favourite in the end was their signature Mom Steak Burger with its delicious smokey meat and caramellised onions.

The beautiful burger buns were as soft and springy as an angel's buttcheek with delicate toasting to absolute perfection.

The meat was fresh and the burgers were cooked to a golden brown with a divine and flavourful charring on each side.

And the cheese - oh, the cheese! It was luscious and rich, and the ideal burger to cheese ratio was achieved in each and every bite.

Of course, the last part would be the fries. Not only were they prepared to the utmost peak of sublimity, but they had a unique and delectable set of herbs and spices gracefully coating each fry.

Mom'steak Burgers has given me such an unparalleled standard of how a burger and fries should taste that it will never be the same again....

2 stars because the burger was good. But lost 3 stars because of dishonesty and trying to rip off the customers. They presented us with a bill with only a total number and no details. I suspected that the price was too much, so I asked him for a detailed invoice and I insisted when he tried to pretend that he didn't understand me. When he laid out the details, the sum was much less than the price he tried to charge. I'm sure they rip off innocent customers with this scheme every day.. so I am laying this out there for everyone to beware. My advice is go somewhere else just for the peace of mind. Plus burgers in Turkey are the best anywhere in the world, so wherever you end up going, its hard to go wrong with...

Food was okay, nothing special. Watch out because they charged my card twice for one meal by saying it didn’t go through the first time when it actually did. There have been a lot of negative reviews from other customers about overcharging tourists and scamming so try to pay in cash if after all this you still want to eat here!

Additional response to their comment: insinuating that customers are going out of their way to lie in reviews does not look good for your business. Don’t scam...
