The restaurant is truly wonderful due to its interior, the location, the atmosphere, and the great collection of original photographs by Ara Güler.

I visited it every single day during my stay in Istanbul and must say that the food has been mostly incredible. However, one has to know what to order; plus, the quality of the dishes may vary depending on the kitchen staff, as on some days the same dish was less good compared to other days.

The service is ok, some waiters are very friendly, others are rather moody. The level of English is acceptable, which is more than you can expect in Istanbul or Turkey in general.

One of the waitresses, Derya, was especially kind, professional, and helpful, and has made my dining experience exceptionally enjoyable! A great ‘Thank You’ for that!

Their absolute highlights are: Manti, Chicken Confit, Balkan Meatballs, Çilbir, Fresh Fruit Lemonade, Ice Latte, and the pastes served with bread.

Salon Galata is a quaint bistro restaurant at the foot of the Camondo stairs, known to be the most eclectic staircase in the city heading to the Galata Tower in Beyoğlu, Istanbul.

The Camondo stairs were supposedly built to facilitate the transport of Camondo’s children to their school and as a shortcut for Camondo to reach Bankalar Caddesi quickly.

Service was genuine and kind, the wine list was great, we were fortunate to find our favourite Chamlija wines again.

Unfortunately, there is room for improvement with the food to make it a five-star rating. A suggestion would be to upgrade the quality of the meat and sprinkle a little extra love on the desserts would be a great start.
