Simit Sarayi — Restaurant in Beyoğlu

I regret to inform you that I did not make a purchase due to an unpleasant experience with a staff member. Despite being impressed by the food quality, display, and location, I was treated in a very rude manner by a female employee behind the counter. She displayed extreme anger and even made a disturbing statement about wishing to harm someone. This occurred after I politely asked two simple questions in English regarding takeaway options and cutting the food into pieces.

Having spent the past five days exploring the city, I have been consistently impressed by the warm and welcoming nature of the Turkish people. This incident, however, was deeply shocking and distressing to both myself and my family. To preserve my dignity and safety, I felt compelled to leave the establishment immediately.

While I typically refrain from writing negative reviews that may harm someone's reputation, I feel compelled to share my experience in the hope that it will reach the management's attention. Very nice place with a variety of food and beverage. Waiters are not so nice and welcoming.. not a smile and it was our first ever approach with Turkish. 1-I was buy foods for the second time and standing since a while then when it came my turn the waiter said that the other girl was first (it’s ok for me waiting but wasn’t nice to feel like I was taking her turn). I had to ask to heat again the bread as was cold after doing one time. 2-there is the tricky ice cream man just in the front of the restaurant, apparently a nice guy, but he told triple of the real price from us, the board says “70 lira” and he took 600 lira for 3 ice cream (I didn’t want even but he just call me and put on my hands) when I asked the to counter how much should I pay, they said that they don’t know to read the tissue where the ice cream guy wrote the price, I think this is not correct at all, to customerize cost of ice cream. This place has the worst employees i ever seen. People working there were extremely rude to me. I was talking to them and they turned their back because they didnt understand. I was standing there waiting for someone to help me and they did nothing. When i went to the cashier's to ask for asistance she tried to find someone who could understand and when she didnt she went on to the next customer completely ignoring me as everyone did before. It was a horrendous experience and completely unacceptable to be seen at such a touristic place as the taksim square.
