SCAM * Stay away!!!* We have traveled to Istanbul three times for a week each visit & had NEVER been scammed until Sah Sultan cafe. Sah Sultan terrace -cafe rooftop (near entrance of Grand Bazaar-4th floor). Our waiter showed us an iPad menu quickly w pics & offered us a meal for two & we specifically said we didn’t want the lamb or meatballs- then we addressed it during the meal and said we didn’t order this + waiter apologized so we thought it would be corrected.. I also asked for some bread & hummus. (& we got a couple diet cokes) Well... geez.... 855 Turkish lira later !!! Equivalent to about $105 USD at this time... I mean seriously! We may spend that IF we wanted a special/ NICE dinner out but this was just an unplanned dinner later in evening after a day at museums & shopping. We went to pay & & after seeing the total -we kept saying it was WRONG & it was too much. The waiter acted like that was the right honest price - even if it was -we never saw the menu price & never Wanted lamb/ meatball platter for two. We had the cash & after some heated words - we figured it was a lost cause Bc they were denying any wrong doing. IT was like it was a preplanned thing Bc they were NOT shocked at our reaction or our A very LOUD voices. So from someone who absolutely LOVEs Istanbul.... please stay away from sah Sultan @ grand bazaar/Beyazit. We’ve had GREAT experiences at All other places We’ve eaten /shopped at all around Istanbul ..great food, nice people/service & good prices. This will go down in our “ugh, we got scammed” memories! It’s a shame that the money they think they make w scams will actually be the reason they make...

My friends and I stumbled upon Sah Sultan Restaurant while exploring Beyazit, and it turned into a magical evening. We were lucky enough to be seated on the top floor terrace, which offered a breathtaking view of the city's rooftops and lights ✨.
** But the real star of the show was the hookah. ♀️ The flavors were smooth and exotic, and the service was impeccable. Our hookah master was attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring we had the perfect smoking experience.
** And let's not forget the service. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and at ease. They were always happy to answer our questions and offer recommendations.

I only wanted a simple ice cream, but ended up being “played” like everyone else:
The empty cone was handed to me, only to be snatched back at the last second.
Just when I thought I had it, the ice cream flipped upside down, nearly touching my nose.
The crowd laughed, and I couldn’t help but laugh at myself too.
In the end, of course, I got my ice cream — though my wallet felt a little lighter: $14 for two cones. Definitely a tourist price 😂. But to be honest, the ice cream man was pretty handsome. His smile was sweeter than the ice cream itself, and his playful gaze during the show made it hard to feel annoyed.
🍦 As for the taste — chewy and stretchy, not mind-blowing but fun to eat on the go. With this little encounter, it became one of those small but unforgettable memories of the trip.
👉 Next time I bump into another charming ice cream master, I’d probably let myself be “tricked” again. After all, isn’t it these unexpected little moments that make...
