You MUST see the Grand Bazaar when in Turkey. The sheer size of the Grand Bazaar is awe-inspiring—it’s one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world, with over 4,000 shops spread across a maze of alleys. You may feel extremly overwhelmed at first but you get the hang of it. Just keep track of which entrance you came in so that you don't become turned around as it is so big you could easily become lost. Lots of different items for sale. The best places to get your goods are in the shops just outside of the bazaar or the markets in Eminonu as the prices are much cheaper and you can usually barter them down a lot more too. Don’t forget to indulge in a cup of Turkish tea offered by shopkeepers—it’s a gesture of hospitality that makes the experience even more memorable.

Do not recommend this place. Highly over priced items you can get cheaper elsewhere in the city. Be especially careful with the Turkish delight shops (pictured on the left in my photo). They charge me 2600 Turkish lira for a tiny box, about $80 USD! I saw receipt and turned around and said no, I want to return. They didn’t want to take it back until the realized I was from a cruise excursion and our excursion guide took us directly to that shop, so I’m sure they have some deal with them they didn’t want to lose and let me return. I’m 100% certain they said that the small box was $38 euros, not what I paid. Alas, I found the same delicious pistachio flavored delights outside of the bazaar for less than $30.

Amazing place to be but the real deal is the bazaar to the left of Grand Bazaar. On a good bargain you can get a very good deal of the branded stuff ( 1st copies) inside the bazaar they have very good ceramic shops which you should definitely pick up (open for negotiation) these crockeries are handmade. At the spice market nearby, best place to pick up variety of cheeses, olives, cold cuts and other items. Your cheapest way of reaching here is metro and tramps

BARGAIN BARGAIN, BARGAIN this is a must stop but you need to increase your bargaining skills . The best way is to walk throughout this massive maze of retail stores. You must go to the leather section, clothes section souvineer sections and ask for prices . The majority of stores sell the same thing. Do not be scared to go down 50% in price . For example he says 400 TL you counter that with 200TL. Thud place easily needs 2 days to complete . Get ready to walk in a very crowded walk and never take out your money in front of people . You can find everything here especially silver, plaster plates , Turkish delights and more . We bought from a vice shop called Yasmin . The salesperson was Kanan, tell him Freddie send you . Many of the stores are numbered so remember the address if you need to...
