We stayed here on two separate occasions on our trip while we were in Turkey. We stayed one night and then asked to store our bags while we travelled outside of Istanbul and then for another two nights before we left Turkey.||||We choose this hotel because of its location. It is less than a 5min walk to the Grand Bazaar. We knew our time in Istanbul we wanted to shop and wanted to stay close by so we drop things off at the hotel easily. The street on which the hotel is also has a few restaurants at the end and also two banks.||||We stayed in two different rooms. Our first room was very small and at the back of the hotel. It was good just for the night. Our second room was slightly bigger and was facing the street. We liked this room a lot more. Both rooms were clean and while kept.||||Our biggest complaint was the hotel transfer. I emailed several days ahead of time to schedule a transfer and they quoted more than what I had previous paid directly from the airport, so beware and negotiate. We were told to meet our driver at a certain gate and I know it was out of no one's fault but were caught up in immigration which took us much longer to leave and we did not have access to a phone and Istanbul airport does not have wifi. We were able to ask a random person for help and were able to find our driver......but he was by far the worst driver in the world. He drove so slow...a ride that should be 45mins took us almost two hours. He was on his phone the whole time and swerving in between the lines on the road. I was so upset about the drive. ||For the second transfer, I have emailed several times about our pickup time and asked several times where do we meet our driver? When we arrived there was no driver and again we were stuck asking strangers to use their phones and call the hotel. The driver was more than 1hr late. It just ruined all our plans that day to get into Istanbul earlier since we just lost over 1hr just standing at the airport. ||||I would NOT get a transfer from the hotel. Get one from the airport it was the same price and hassle-free.|||||||| I would like to add there is an ATM on the same street as the hotel that dispenses Lira ₺, Pounds...
Read moreUpon arrival after a long day of travel, we anticipated a peaceful room to rest. Unfortunately, the cab had to drop us off 15 minutes away due to inaccessible roads in an unsafe area. This was not the hotel's fault. However, the property looked nothing like the advertised photos once we arrived. Upon checking-in at 7:30pm, our room was dingy, cramped, and excessively warm. Despite the staff's attempt to cool the room, it remained uncomfortable. After multiple complaints and unhelpful advice from the receptionist, we requested a different room around 8:30pm. The receptionist was reluctant, and told us to wait for the manager, who arrived at 9:15pm. He unreasonably blamed us for the warmth as we opened the door to help filter in fresh air from the much cooler hallway which we had only done 15 minutes prior to his arrival. After later admitting to building wide issues with the air conditioning unit, he refused a refund, citing maintenance technicalities, and claimed Booking.com had already charged commission. The manager, sweating himself, finally agreed to cancel the reservation but still proceeded to make an unauthorized charge for one night that we pleaded against multiple times. Around 10:00pm, we decided it was best to just leave and proceeded into the dark streets without anywhere to go carrying our luggage. The manager, smelling of alcohol, became aggressive and tried to prevent us from leaving. His staff pulled him away as he continued to push and grab us after we photographed him in fear of retaliation as he possessed our credit card and passport information. He threatened to call the police which we agreed to but knew we did not feel safe staying anywhere near him. We were eventually able to get away and found accommodations in a much nicer, nearby hotel with wonderful staff. Do yourself and a favor and book elsewhere. This was our biggest regret of our entire stay in the beautiful city...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel with my family for about 7 nights when I would recommend this hotel for the following reasons:||1) Great location - simply excellent - close to shopping, Metro, tram station, bazaars and everything - one of the most beautiful places to stay.||2) A very impressive team friendly - they help you with any questions / inquiries and even changed the room we paid to a large room drop, all in order to be satisfied.||3) The breakfast is very tasty.||So to stay in Istanbul for shopping, great recommendation for this hotel, but if you want to stay in the hotel for a long time, not recommended, because of the very small rooms.||Depending on what you are...
