VERY HAPPY we stumbled upon this awesome place! 🌆

After a busy day walking around the downtown (during a protest march) we hoped to find a relaxing spot to enjoy a meal. Roofstar Bosphorus Lounge was perfect & far surpassed our expectations! 💫

We quickly learned that it is under brand new ownership and is ran by a family who takes much pride in their work. Firat is the owner and his brother Azad is there to help along with a number of other staff members.

We were greeted in the elevator when we first arrived and were immediately treated like family. In fact, some of the first words were: “make yourself comfortable, treat this like your home and sit wherever you’d like.”

That warm feeling continued throughout our entire time here as we were told “order whatever you’d like, if you don’t care for it, you won’t pay.” That’s a very generous and considerate gesture which made us feel even more at ease.

After ordering our drinks we were gifted a tasty fresh baked bread with hummus. Firat is so funny and sweet, he said “my mother made this, please enjoy.” And we did! 😆🥰

The atmosphere is very comfortable with lovely views overlooking the water and city. I loved the playlist they had going and was glad I used Shazam because now I have my own playlist that was very similar! Each time I listen to it I’ll be reminded of our great time here. 🎶

During my recent visit to Turkey, I had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant that truly lives up to its name—offering not only exceptional cuisine but also a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel genuinely welcomed.

From the moment we arrived, the staff displayed an outstanding level of professionalism and hospitality. We were greeted with sincere smiles and guided to a beautifully set table. The team was attentive throughout our meal, always present but never intrusive.

The menu offers a thoughtful selection of traditional Turkish dishes with a refined, contemporary touch. Every dish we tried—from the perfectly seasoned mezes to the tender grilled meats and fresh seafood—was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The ingredients were clearly of high quality, and the care put into each plate was evident.

We found this restaurant according to reviews. The reviews were very good. Musa helped to reserve a table. Musa is very polite and attentive, helped with all questions and described everything in detail. We had a very beautiful view. We ordered several dishes, everything was very tasty. Prices are slightly higher than average, but adequate. The entire staff was very polite and attentive, speak English well.

We have one Important remark. We ordered drinks for each person, but they brought us additionally water to each person. We have been to Istanbul several times, often treating us with water. But this time they included water in the bill. Although we did not ask for water and drank only one bottle. Of course, the price for a bottle of water was very expensive (then usually) and it was clear that we did not need water at all. Since we have ordered drinks for ourselves and we left several bottles closed. I don't understand why they added this water to the bill. This is a very unpleasant trick that is sometimes used. We hope that the next time we will be asked whether we want it or not, and only after that include it in the bill. Of course, this is not a critical amount, but it is unpleasant.
