I first visited this place, not long after it opened.
It was very spacious and had well trained staff.
It was a relaxing place to sit after the hectic atmosphere of the bazaar.
And it also had a bathroom.... perfect addition to Kapalicarsi.
I visited today....and it was no longer spacious....areas were restricted because of the changes made in the last few years and the toilet was no longer available to customers (great service!).
I was placed on a table bigger to my requirements and asked if anything else was available.....the staff weren't able to help as all the empty tables were for third parties....they said.
Mid-way through my visit, the waiting staff 'asked me' to change tables....(although they asked....it was very much an instruction).
Immediately I felt very unwelcome and it made me realised I had entered a cafe that will always treat it's current customers badly for new business.
And really would any good cafe or restaurant make someone move mid-way through their visit?
No....they wouldn't.
Really disappointing.....and for the first 2/3 of my visit, I had decided that the staff and even with the changes that has made the place less comfortable....I still thought it was a good place.
Now I will...
Read moreWarning sign not to go there. Tourist trap with overpriced foods and drinks and trying to cheat you. The cafe is beautiful located inside the grade bazaar but a cup cappuccino is 130 lira (5 USD). A week ago i went there at 18.00 hr and i was the last customer of the day when the bill came I paid them 140 lira with 1 one-hundred lira note and 2 twenty-lira notes, after a minute the waiter came back and said I paid them only 50 lira , showing 1 ten-lira note and 2 twenty-lira notes. I have been to Turkey so many times before now so I would not make any mistake with money. In particular 100-lira note ( blue color) and 10-lira note (smaller red color note). I refused to pay and they pretended to be upset and did not take the money. So i walked out, they ran after me threatened to bring me the police. When we arrived at police station the office was closed that waiter insisted that I should pay so I raised my voice and many people of the shop nearby came and asked. The waiter quickly disappeared. The shop owners said this kind id incidents happened very often and the tourist usually are confused with money and acared when threatened...
Read moreWe had the experience to have lunch at this restaurant. Mutlu Yetim was serving us which was not good at all. He was rude and disrespectful. Lake of English and education from this kind of manager is the embodiment of Tuekey grand bazaar culture. The food was mediocre which similar to the rest of the bazaar was basic and unnecessary expensive. People openly smoke in the restaurant so I suggest you be prepared for a stinky experience. They do not have pose devices, so make sure you bring cash. Hope you find somewhere better, we do not recommend this place to any human being who respects...
