Girida Port — Restaurant in Fethiye

Disappointing. We have been going to Girida and now Girida Port for some 15 years. In all that time it has been the highlight outing. It's the place to go for a blow out meal, a treat, a date night and an all round memorable meal. Not this time. A restaurant is not just good food but a combination of location, ambience and good service. Girida Port absolutely failed on service. Fundamentally there are not enough staff to service the number of diners. I am well aware that lack of staff is a problem but I'm still paying the same price so it should not be my problem. Lets list the failings (in no particular order). No linen napkins. Table light never lit. Bottle of Raki not delivered before food and had to remind (a couple of times) before arriving No water delivered with Raki Ice not replenished Had to pour Raki ourselves after the first pour Ordered a selection of hot and cold mezes. We had barely started the cold mezes before they tried to deliver all the hot mezes at once instead of spacing them out. It was if they were trying to get us out of the door. To be fair when I complained they did take them back and deliver them individually as they usually do. One ordered item not delivered but charged for. The final insult was when I paid the bill by card I specifically asked to pay in Lira yet was charged in pounds even though no choice was offered or any indication on the terminal that I would be billed in pounds. This resulted in a bill approx £5 higher than it should have been. Consequently no tip left. I'm afraid to say that this has put us off...

Firstly the positives, fabulous location. However, the service wasn’t brilliant though and needed chasing to get drinks and food ordered. We ordered lobster and spaghetti after a discussion that my wife only wanted a small portion 50-100g rather than a whole lobster. The price for the whole lobster was stated as being over 4,000 TL. A fully dressed lobster arrived with a mountain of spaghetti. Far more than was needed and when the bill came it was stated as being 0.86Kg and over 3,500 TL. Whilst the food itself was good, it was clear that they’d deliberately produced a far bigger meal than was requested, despite the very good English and understanding. This isn’t the first time we’ve used the restaurant, many times previously but was the first since it’s been separated from the hotel. We paid the bill without complaint but left zero tip and is the last time we’ll use it…. there loss for ripping us! :-( The Mori restaurant next door offers far better choice and service plus they’ve never...

The restaurant was almost empty. I came alone and they asked me multiple times if it was just me, and if there was only 1 in my party. After some walkie talkie conversation, the host gave me a sad table. I asked for a table by the water and she said they're busy. The restaurant was almost freaking empty. How would they know one person would spend less than two people. I'm an American and I tend to tip very generously. Good luck getting a nice tip from locals. I just walked away. So ridiculous. They'd rather turn me down despite how empty they were than give me a decent table. There are many restaurants in the area that'll be willing to get...
