Karma Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Fethiye

Me and my family stumbled into this little gem of a place in Fethiye by the harbor due to dehydration. We originally stopped to have a quick drink but ended up having lunch and a few more drinks too. The reason for this is quite simple, the owner, his staff, the quality of food and drink and not to mention the price are all amazing. They all made us feel so welcomed and were very hospitable. As we were tourists in Turkey, we wanted to do and see as much as we could but felt we were paying much more than we should in ölüdeniz, were we were staying. The owner was only too happy to answer all of our questions and was extremely helpful in making recommendations and advising us on what we should be paying for certain activities. My brother being a vegan found it very difficult to find places where he could have a decent vegan meal. He ordered the mushroom wrap and was blown away by the quality and flavors exploding in his mouth. This was the first time since we've been here that he's been over the moon with the food so thank you to the owner and his team of amazing floor, bar, kitchen and not to mention the management team too. We were that impressed that we've been back 3/4 times already and plan to go there a few more times before we head back to London on Saturday. A massive thank you to everyone at Karma. If you’re looking for a fantastic place to eat then look no further. Karma restaurant has a great choice on the menu. All the staff were so accommodating and helpful when I mentioned I was coeliac, even checking the ingredients on the ice cream before making me a milkshake- which was divine. All the meals were cooked to perfection. Great value, fantastic food. All the staff were friendly and helpful. A great location overlooking the square for a meal at any time of the day. Yerli müşteri olarak nakit varsa her zaman bahşiş bırakmamıza rağmen mekan sahibi suratsız, ana dili İngilizce olabilir hesap öderken İngilizce konuşsak da hiçbir dilde hoş geldinize rastlayamadık, oysa yabancı masalarla sohbet ediyor sıklıkla. Çalışanlardan bazıları güler yüzlü ama bilhassa genç ama daha uzun zamandır çalışanı, yabancıların masalarının aksine bize karşı hep başka yere bakarak siparişi robot gibi alıyor, sıfır göz teması. Resmen suratları düşüyor yerli müşteride. Yabancılara gülücük, bize ne hoş geldiniz ne de tebessüm. Tek bir defa giderseniz fark etmeyebilirsiniz ama rutinde bu durum çok bariz bir çifte standart maalesef. Her seferinde bir şans daha verelim desek de artık bu kadarı da kendimize saygısızlığa girecek. Bu muameleyi hak etmiyoruz. Adı “Karma” olan bir mekan, etme bulma dünyasında daha dikkatli olmalı. Artık gelmeyeceğiz, çok da özlenmeyeceğiz orası ayrı.

Mekanın konumu güzel, ağaç altında keyifli, yemekler ortalamanın bir üstü ama maalesef her zaman aynı kaliteyi tutturamamaları bir sorun. Biralar sıcak, “hava sıcak” bahanesine sığınmaları makul değil sonuçta başka yerde aynı sorunu yaşamıyorsak dolap derecesi için paraya kıyılmıyor demektir. Biralar yarısında ısındığından şerbete dönüyor.

Karma’s location is nice, pleasant under the trees, food’s decent. But beers are warm, and “it’s the heat” excuse doesn’t cut it. As local customers, despite tipping, the owner’s cold, staff act robotic. Foreigners get smiles, we get nothing. We didn’t deserve this. A place called “Karma” should watch out in a “what goes around, comes around”...
