Ailem Kafe Restaurant — Restaurant in Fethiye

We just left from having our second fish and chips set here at Ailem Cafe, this week. I am putting in my vote for the best fried fish and homemade chips (fries) in Turkey and maybe anywhere. The owner told us the fish is haddock and it was prepared perfectly. So crispy on the outside and white fish fillet on the inside with no skin. The chips are hand cut and fried to perfection as well. The set also comes with a salad that includes fresh greens, sliced onions, chopped tomatoes and a slice of lemon to squeeze on with oil and vinegar from the condiments at the table. If fried fish is your thing you must try this restaurant. If you just kind of like fried fish, you must try this restaurant as he will change your mind and you will now love fried fish. We chose to sit outside both times which is shady and a small breeze comes down this alley from the sea. I will say there is smoking here and I know that deters some patrons but honestly it wasn't a problem for my husband and we do not smoke. Just want to be fair and let you know. You may also sit inside but the view and people watching is always good outdoors. We are here another week and I want to go back but next time I'm going for the calamari. It’s not a surprise that this restaurant is in Trip Advisor’s top 10% in the world. Very authentic and tasty. The menu has all the must try fish specialties of Turkey for a very good price. Plus it’s a family place where you are treated as part of it. If you are wondering around the streets of Fethiye looking for a place to eat and are overwhelmed by the fancy looking, touristy and expensive restaurants everywhere, just go...

It's good for what is.

The restaurant provides decent quality food, from a limited menu, at a very affordable price.

The restaurant was clean, the service was good, and the food was served hot. The owner came by our table to greet us, and explained that the olive oil they served came from his own farm.

It's not fine dinning, but does provide a good value.
