Not changed in 10 years! Still as wonderful as we remember- now we just have the kids in tow to share the experience with!
From my personal experience dining here with my family of five, I can wholeheartedly say it was a fantastic evening. The restaurant offers great wine and incredibly flavorful food, all served in a genuinely authentic Turkish atmosphere that truly immerses you from the moment you arrive.
We chose to sit in the low cushion area, which, combined with the close proximity to other buildings, really drew us into the relaxed nightlife of Kalkan. The gentle hum of chatter, traditional music, tantalizing aromas, and charming aesthetics captivated our imagination and made the evening feel special. Just a heads-up—most people remove their shoes before sitting down in this area, so plan your footwear accordingly. I wore trainers, which wasn’t ideal, but it didn’t affect the overall wonderful experience.
For other guests who preferred a more traditional setup, there’s also the option to sit at tables and chairs on a different terrace, so everyone can feel comfortable.
The kids absolutely loved the menu options—they had plenty of choices that kept the younger ones happy, making it a fun experience for the whole family.
I ordered the shell-on prawns, and they were absolutely delicious—bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection, authentically Turkish (with a portion of fries for good measure!).
The service moved at a gentle, unhurried pace, which was perfect for our family, allowing us to relax and truly enjoy the evening without feeling rushed or pressured.
Overall, I highly recommend this place for families or anyone looking to enjoy rich, flavorful food in a warm, atmospheric setting. It was a memorable night for...
Read moreI recently visited Belgin’s Kitchen in Kalkan, and it was a delightful experience overall. The ambience is absolutely charming – terrace seating with a stunning sea view, surrounded by other quaint terrace restaurants. The place is beautifully decorated with flower plants, and the tables are arranged in a classic Turkish style, including traditional low seating options that make it feel authentic and cozy.
The food was excellent – authentic Turkish cuisine at its best. We ordered four different dishes, each one better than the last. I highly recommend trying the lamb cooked in a traditional “tandır” oven – tender, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth. The jumbo prawns with tomatoes and beans were another standout, rich and hearty. For starters, don’t miss the yaprak sarma (grape leaves stuffed with rice and spices) – absolutely delicious.
The only downside for me was the alcohol selection. Unfortunately, the cocktails didn’t match the standard of the food, and the beer was served warm, which was a bit disappointing.
That said, if your focus is on experiencing true Turkish hospitality and authentic flavors, Belgin’s Kitchen is worth a visit. Come for the food, the views, and the atmosphere – and maybe stick to...
Read moreBIG FRAUD, AVOID THIS PLACE We came to have dinner. It looks a typical turkish place, and i would say 'typical' because it has not been updated (and i would add cleaned) for ages. I guess they try to do the 'feel as a real turkish' experience, but it is all driven to tourists: you will not see any turkish there. It is all overpriced, as food is completly standard, really poor, small quantity. We come from barcelona and for 20€ you desserve something else than grilled chicken and rice. They say they have tried not to modify the 'grandmother' recipes, and i agree, but it happnes that the grandmother was a terrible cook. The owner is rude, we told him to take a picture of us and he answered that he was the boss, that he did not do such things. Then he tried to be funny doing stupid jokes to my daughters in his terrible english. There are a lot of places to have a much better dinner or lunch for that price, i absolutely recommend to avoid this one. I dont understand the good comments, unless they are made...
