Mixed feelings...
We reserved a table and were quickly showed to a decent table. The service initially seemed good, and cocktails were very good (definitely above average for Antayla which has a lot of very poor cocktails).
Then this issues came... The first issue was that the mains were ready far too quickly and our starter plates were removed half way through us eating our starter! Very poor. The steak was mediocre, nothing special and therefore overpriced. My partner was initially served the wrong main which contained chicken although she is actually vegetarian, but after informing the waiter they politely corrected this and we were not charged for the wrong meal they brought us. Whilst not ideal, these things happen so not a huge deal as they dealt with it correctly.
The fettuccine truffle mushroom was actually very good and I would recommend this. The panna cotta was OK but had too much gelatin and so too firm and bouncy and therefore not to the standards of the pricing.
We ordered two cocktails, the Cuba Libre was out in minutes but they forgot my wife's mojito and so after a wait, then having to remind them, and then another wait, it eventually came out.
They also charged us for water which we didn't order, which is low establishment tactics for an extra few lira, very disappointing for this sort of place.
The venue is very nice but paper napkins and a paper sheet under your plates is not fine dining and rather takes away from the experience. QR codes for the wine list is also not part of fine dining.
Overall, it was bad and good, not worth the high prices as the standards were not there. If you charge those prices the service needs to be high and it simply wasn't. Hidden charges are also unacceptable for fine dining. We left without paying a tip, the only restaurant in 10days and a nearly 400km trip around the South Coast of Turkey where we did not tip as the standards were considerably below expectations.
I would therefore not recommend this restaurant and overall was the most disappointing experience for the most expensive meal which we've had on...
Read moreI recently dined at The Grill House, located in the beautiful city of Antalya, Turkey, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From the moment I stepped foot in the restaurant, I was greeted with warm smiles and excellent service.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, with dim lighting and comfortable seating. The decor was simple yet elegant, with a rustic feel that added to the charm of the place. The Grill House truly captures the essence of Turkish hospitality and culture.
Now, let's talk about the food. Oh my goodness, the food! The menu had an impressive variety of dishes, ranging from traditional Turkish cuisine to international dishes. I ordered the mixed grill platter, and it was nothing short of amazing. The meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the side dishes complemented the flavors perfectly. The portions were generous, and I left the restaurant feeling satisfied and happy.
To top it all off, the staff was incredibly attentive and made sure that my dining experience was nothing short of excellent. They even went above and beyond to recommend local attractions and made sure that my stay in Antalya was unforgettable.
Overall, I would highly recommend The Grill House to anyone looking for a delicious meal and an exceptional dining experience in Antalya. The food, service, and atmosphere all exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to return. Thank you, The Grill House, for a wonderful...
Read moreWalking past this place you'd think everything would be amazing but no. Our waiter was apparently a chef.. but was not dressed appropriately at all - (why would the chef take our order?). He wanted to push us into buying a certain wine after we asked for a house wine, we shut him down quick and he was not very happy with us as he knew he couldn't make us buy too many things. We ordered pasta - the carbonara tasted like nothing & the penne carne is horrible. Without salt and pepper it tastes of nothing, everything was too watery!! The "chef" kept pushing us into buying the steak and that he "makes the best steak" - we saw a table order a steak but it was more for the show as they will just throw some oil and make a huge fire. Really not that impressive - you're paying more for the show than for the food!
We didn't finish our food at all, it barely looked touched -- usually the waiters are meant to ask if everything is okay but they just took our plates away. I guess they are used to their customers not finishing their foods. 😂
I don't recommend this place at all. It's a shame because it looks beautiful inside and outside but the food is horrible.
P.S - the "chef" was outside the restaurant smoking a cigarette after taking all of the orders. 😂 & we should've known the restaurant was not one of the best as there was only us and another family, the rest of the place was dead quiet. People kept coming in, looking at the menu and...
