The service was ok,the server was nice and friendly. we ordered 3 fresh orange juice for 20 lira each, but it did not taste like that, it tasted like cappy pulpy portakal. We asked for a small portion of hamsi for our 4 year old daughter they charged 60 lira for a normal portion, I ordered fried calamari as main course which is originally a side dish but costs also 60lira and tasted for me like pre frosted and was just like 6 or 7 calamari on the plate and was served with remoulade. The second main dish the mixed plate (150lira) was ok but over priced in my opinion. All in total we paid 400 lira for 1 starter (meze) 1side dish 1 main course 3 orange juice and 1 water.. It was not bad but we just expected more after reading all the comments. The day before we went to an high class Restaurant had 2 starters 2main course 2 desserts including 3 drinks and water, and paid less, so we expected a bit more for the price at this restaurant
Update: I think that it is absolutely ok to compare two restaurants in the same price segment. If I offer high prices I have to offer high quality of foods and drinks. And I know what I am talking about because I work as an FOM at a 4 star Hotel with a restaurant which has an Michelin star. And yes we saw the prices on the menu and we expected...
Read moreWe came here because of the many five star reviews, which I am doubtful about now if they are real. Don't get me wrong, the service is great, some of the food was okay but it's definitely price / quality not the best deal in Antalya.
Portions are not bigger, quality definitely ain't better. We paid 1000 lira for a mixed grill, the meat was ok, not amazing. The steak was so hard. Not too much taste, also not complete rubbish, just for the price, it is not the best. (We went to Pastorale where the mixed grill is absolutely amazing and only 400 Lira).
The limonade was really good and the service is too, people are very kind and I think they really want to make this live up to the standards to justify the price. The issue is just that the chef / cook ain't anywhere close to be able to charge these amounts. Even with downturn economy, drop of lira/foreign currency, it's just not a good price/quality compared to loads of other places.
I would recommend to take the multiple five star ratings with a pinch of salt, I read some in retrospect that are really strange ("cheap prices" while not being cheap compared to rest of Antalya, "huge portions" while not being any bigger than other places, ...). The ones about excellent service as...
Read moreWhile wandering around Antalya, we walked past this restaurant and decided to return for lunch. I am so glad we did because it turned out to be one of the most delicious meals we had in Turkey. The owner and staff were extremely kind and hospitable - and not only to us. We could see him being polite and conversational with other tables and even make a little napkin animal for a small child at a table near ours. The restaurant had an overall warm, friendly, family feel - and the food was even better. While our appetizer of a caprese salad was just alright, my steak entree was well seasoned and bursting full of flavor. The accompanying mushroom parmesan sauce was delicious, and the vegetables and mashed potatoes were also tasty. Though some bites of the mashed potatoes were a little bit heavy on the dill.
For dessert we got baklava and were surprised that it came with strawberry ice cream. This unexpected flavor combination really worked and helped elevate the pistachio flavor in the baklava. The meal was also served with complementary bread at the start and turkish tea at the conclusion of the meal.
I highly recommend this restaurant and the...
