Reasonable stay at the Dogan Hotel. ||||As the pictures show, it is a building in the traditional Ottoman style. I believe it is several, separate buildings merged to form this hotel plus some new additional buildings which retained the traditional style and feel. Lots of nooks & crannies with nice shaded area's give the hotel a very traditional feel nestled as it is within the delightful old town of Antalya. Pool area is small but very attractive and a lovely area to relax. External restaurant area is also a lovely place with an excellent and reasonably priced bar.||||Position.||Situated a short walk from the harbour and in a perfect position to explore the old town. Very little traffic navigates the tight old town streets. Just the odd essential delivery & taxi. Small supermarket nearby and all the bars & restaurants you could wish for.||||Room.||We had one of the premium rooms (forget the actual name the hotel calls them). Had a terrace and was a nice size. Shame the bathroom was so small? Bed very comfortable and reasonable furnishings. Kettle & fridge included. Is a tv but it is not a smart model so only BBC world news available in English.||||Cleanliness.||Quite acceptable considering the nature of the old building. bathrooms very clean. Towels & sheets very good.||||Staff.||Most just going about their daily work without engaging with guests and clearly going through the motions although a few are very friendly and enjoy their work. ||||Food.||We were on B&B board basis. Breakfast was the usual offerings. Nothing exceptional but quite acceptable. We chose to eat lunch & dinner here on the odd day and found the food very good. Generous portions and very professionally presented & prepared.||||Negatives.||Lots and lots of stairs here. It is part of its character and charm but be prepared if you have any sort of mobility issue or have pushchairs etc. No chance at all if you are wheelchair bound. No lifts at all. In fact the whole town has lots of steps and steep slopes if you wish to properly explore and enjoy the old town.||At night, Antalya turns into a very noisy party town. Great if that's what you are looking for but at 60, those days are long gone for me. The noise is everywhere in the old town with throbbing bass booming out till just before dawn most nights. Didn't annoy us but even with windows closed, the noise was impossible to escape if that is an issue for you.||||So plenty to commend the hotel for. Nice place to be and very peaceful during the day if not at night. We enjoyed our stay and would visit the...

Highlights:
Prime Location: Undoubtedly, the hotel's biggest draw is its unbeatable location. Immerse yourself in the labyrinthine streets of Kaleici, with its historical sites, harbor views, and vibrant atmosphere, all within walking distance. Ottoman Flair: The Dogan Hotel embraces its Ottoman heritage with traditional architecture, exposed stonework, beamed ceilings, and a charming courtyard with a pool. From local recommendations to going the extra mile to ensure your comfort, the Dogan Hotel fosters a welcoming ambiance. Turkish Delights: Savor delicious traditional Turkish cuisine at the hotel's restaurant, or enjoy a delightful breakfast spread featuring fresh local ingredients. Comfort and Character: Rooms, while potentially a touch dated for some, and very small, are generally comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. Some even boast lovely views and upgraded amenities. Things to Consider:
Historic Charm with Quirks: The hotel's historic character also means you might encounter uneven floors or smaller bathrooms. If modern, cookie-cutter accommodations are your preference, the Dogan Hotel might not be the best fit. Potential for Noise: Some reviewers mention occasional noise from the lively streets or courtyard, particularly during peak season. Limited Amenities: The hotel prioritizes a charming atmosphere over a vast array of amenities. If you require a gym, spa, or extensive business facilities, you might want to explore other options. Overall:
The Dogan Hotel is a perfect choice for travelers seeking a unique and authentic experience in Antalya's Kaleici. The unbeatable location, friendly service, and historic charm make it a favorite for many. However, if you prioritize ultra-modern amenities or complete tranquility, consider these factors before booking.

Read moreHotel was very nice and the staff were very pleasant . On arrival we didn’t get the room we’d originally booked but after two days we moved and even though the room was smaller it was still very nice . All the rooms are decorated tastefully and great care has been taken to keep the authenticity. The maids were very hard working and our room was cleaned everyday and given clean towels .||The bar was stocked well but the wines were expensive as we found all through the old town. ||Meals were adequate but some nights the food was limited one dish filled and sometimes not replenished. The food some nights was cleared up early so if you got to dinner a little late you’d not have much to eat. ||Breakfast was again adequate but if you wanted juice this was an additional charge and the coffee was poured by the staff so you could not make to your liking some mornings it tasted stewed. (We did ask for extra milk )||Pool area had some broken tiles in the pool and around the top. It was cleaned every morning. And we did managed to get on sun loungers each day. ||All in all this hotel is charming and accommodating most guests seem to have been travelling through and seemed to be there a few days . There’s no entertainment to keep guests in the hotel in the evenings which was a shame , other hotels in the area had something on even if only a singer. This would also benefit the hotel .one thing did stand out the area outside the hotel could do with cleaning it was filthy with broken glass and rubbish. This I’m sorry to say was not a good first impression of the Dogan hotel as the decor inside is very nice. ||The hotel is a stones throw away from the marina which is a bonus a prime position and gets plenty of passing people who would I’m sure pop in for a meal or drinks if it was more appealing to the eye, but people don’t want to see rubbish and glass so don’t bother to call in. The hotel is missing an excellent opportunity to cater for non residents...
