Just finished eating at this "fine dining" restaurant and while the food wasn't bad, the service is definitely NOT fine dining. My waiter hosan was pretty rude. I tried to be nice with the gentlemen when I first came in as I've met some of the nicest people in Turkey but this gentlemen has a poor attitude. Maybe he thought I didn't have money or he had some kind of discriminatory attitude against Asian people. I can't say but anyways, I started to feel uncomfortable as the night went on and I pretty much wanted to leave as quick as possible by the time I sat down. Anyways, I ordered the lamb chops which were good. I guess it's expensive by what is normal Turkish prices but in equivalent to USD, it was about $ 15-20 which is not bad at all. It came with some greens, potatoes and onions and while the serving portion was on the smaller side, it was good. I would've probably ordered some extra appetizers with it but I just wanted to leave the restaurant because the waiter was so annoying. I was going to initially try the sushi because I wanted something different than Turkish food since I had been eating so much Turkish food (which is absolutely delicious). So I asked him about the fish choices and asked if it was freshly caught and what fish was local to the area. He told me this is a fine dining restaurant and everything is fresh in a somewhat demeaning way. Uhm, I ate at Central Restaurant in Lima last year which is ranked #7 in the world and is a 3 Michelin star. I know what fine dining is and fine dining usually doesn't have stray cats roaming around coming to your table trying to get food and doesn't have rude service. So you don't need to lecture me sir, I know what fine dining is lol. Anyways, I'm pretty sure he knew I was annoyed because I just put my air pods in so I didn't have to be bothered. When I paid the check, he kept pushing me to sign. I guess he preferred I leave as soon as possible. No problem buddy, I want to leave fast also so you don't have to worry about it but I'll sign when I'm ready. I'd pass on this restaurant, tons of better establishments around for a fraction of the price and with much much...
Read moreA fine dining restaurant that is not so fine dining. (ONLY SERVICE) Before I start talking about the dish, I need to first talk about the service in this restaurant. The service here while is not worse than the service in an ordinary turkish restaurant. However, as the name suggested, "Seraser Fine Dining restaurant", the service of this restaurant does not complement the name of the restaurant at all. Maybe it is the best 30 restaurant in turkey, but I doubt the service and this is the only fine dining restaurant I have ever been to and I did not leave any tips. Apart from the service which I do not want it to destroy the reputation of the restaurant, I cannot doubt that the quality of the food exceeds the service a lot. The food is excellent. I love the dessert, the Palace’s Lokma is brilliant. While it is a pastry stuffed with truffle chocolate and coated with cinnamon & brown sugar. It is really not that sweet at all. It is brilliant. The Sicilian Seafood restaurant is extraordinary, it is seasoned well and it is cooked thoroughly, Really loving it. Apart from the dishes I have mentioned, the others are good too. The food quality of this restaurant is brilliant. The ambiance is cozy too and you feel welcomed when you step into this restaurant. Also, to be fair, the price in this restaurant is relatively cheaper than the fine dining restaurants you can find in Istanbul. The food quality, the ambiance and the price of this restaurants...
Read moreIn total it's an nice place with good food, i can't say anything bad about the quality of the food. But for this level i expect at least a little bit of a firework when it comes to spices and flavors.
I had: Starter: Dried Bosnian Meat (Dried and smoked Bosnian meat; served with Aegean herbs, onion pickles and orange curd) the meat is very good, sadly i didnt had onion pickles but the beetroot were very good, sadly for like 6 small pieces of dried meat were only one slice beetroot. It would have been nice to have more of it, it were fitting very well to the meat.
Main: Char Grilled Rib Steak (28 days dry aged char-grilled rib steak; potatoes, rocket salad and pepper steak sauce) the Steak itself were good, the potatoes were boring could have used more salt and maybe some herbs, there were a brown sauce but it didnt taste or looked like a pepper sauce, that made me really disappointed. the rocket salad and vinaigrette were simple but very good.
Hopefully next time the experience will be more like a special treat. For me when i go out eating, i want spices, flavors a combination i maybe never had, or when it is a normal dish then at least a good / strong version. 3 * would have been a too big step down, thats why i...
