Great view, bad service, below average food. Would not come here again.
We had a big group (about 10 people) and wanted a table in the patio. They were kind enough to accommodate us. We had a table with amazing view. Took many pictures. Once we sat to have dinner, however, we had a terrible experience.
The server did not take our orders properly. Three people in our group did not have their food arrive even after everyone else finished their food. When we explained the situation, it took them another hour to bring the missing orders (and along the way they brought some wrong dishes). They didn’t have a good explanation for these delays and mistakes. They basically ignored us and served the other tables.
Eventually, once they realized we are frustrated, they brought the missing food. However, the food that arrived late tasted terrible—it was barely edible. Our friends couldn’t finish the food that came late (the Turkish delight).
Perhaps more disappointing, one person in our group had terra cotta in his food (no kidding). He ordered the pottery kebab (testi kebab). The server made a mistake and broke the clay pot into pieces. Some of the small pieces fell into the food. Our friend’s food had terra cotta pieces in it.
Once they realized they messed up big time, they tried to make up by offering free dessert and not charging for the items that they delivered late. But these late apologies do not make up for the fact that they ignored our table when it mattered.
Overall, we had a bad experience. We had to spend about 2 hours more than necessary and several people didn’t like their food. Late apologies do not make up for a bad experience. We have limited time in Cappadoccia and we wasted a valuable night in this place. I would not come here again and I do not recommend. The view is amazing but the food and the service do not live up...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Cappadocia Senza Restaurant, and I must say that their hospitality and service recovery exceeded my expectations.
Let's start with the positive aspects of my experience. The restaurant is situated in a fantastic location, offering breathtaking views of the Uchisar Castle. The ambiance was delightful, creating a relaxing atmosphere for a leisurely lunch. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that we felt welcomed and comfortable throughout our meal.
During our visit, we encountered a small issue with our order, but the way the staff handled it truly impressed me. They swiftly apologized for the inconvenience caused and took immediate action to rectify the situation. Although they didn't replace the dish, they went above and beyond by offering us complimentary baklava for dessert, along with a refreshing cup of tea. This gesture showcased their commitment to ensuring a positive dining experience for their customers and exceeded our expectations of good service recovery.
Apart from the outstanding service recovery, I must mention that the special burger we ordered was absolutely delicious. It was packed with flavor, cooked to perfection, and served with a generous portion of crispy fries. The presentation of the dish was also noteworthy, showing attention to detail in every aspect.
Overall, my experience at Cappadocia Senza Restaurant was memorable. The combination of their good hospitality, breathtaking views, and the tasty special burger made it a worthwhile dining experience. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant for a delightful meal...
Read moreAn inconsistent, overpriced and unpolished luxury dining experience -
The outside and inside areas are night and day - inside has cushioned chairs/set tables/dinner ware and amenities. Outside (preferred for the ambiance/view) has high glass tables that are empty. The whole ground feels like an under construction building with just loose concrete floors and randomly placed umbrellas and dirty glass panels. Seems like an old train station and not a luxury restaurant
We were presented with an online menu, not ok for a fancy restaurant. Within 5 minutes we were asked what entrees we wanted. No drinks/appetisers or even the table set
Mezzes were ok but felt unnecessarily contrived and tastes weird instead of just perfecting the traditional mezzes
Entrees cost 400+ Lira. They come in medium portions, presented well but weirdly with fries. The steak was cooked well, but a very basic cut not specified in the menu. It was overly salted and did not have any other flavour. I was actually steered away from the tenderloin because apparently the "beef steak" was the same thing but bigger. Maybe they had complains/didnt have it and didn't want to tell me.
This restaurant is caught in between fancy and trying to be special as well as trying to appeal to tourists with more western food and sides....
