Argos in Cappadocia is not only a luxury resort but an immersion into the magic of Cappadocia. The property, the staff, and the restaurants truly set the standard and well deserving of high praise and ratings. ||Booking/Coordination. Found through trip advisor and booked directly on their web-site. Choosing a room is challenging due to the large array and variability. Found the 3-D walkthroughs very helpful. Through e-mail, worked directly with the property to answer questions and they were prompt, friendly, and very helpful.||Check-in. Renting a car we were greeted at the door, car parked for us (free parking on site), and brought into a nice reception lobby. After minimal paperwork taken to our room by golf cart with nice “tour” of the property along the way. Quick, friendly, and enjoying our room within minutes of pulling up.||Room. We went “over the top” in choosing one of the Splendid Suites. All the rooms are organic, converted buildings and caves with each having its own personality. Although during booking this can be a little perplexing I would suppose every room will have character and luxury worthy of praise. The Splendid Suite….truly remarkable. Attention to detail is where Argos shines. Clean, each amenity considered and curated, from wall art to bathroom extras there were no half-measures. The pool in the room is heated although not a jacuzzi (in May swimmable but not hanging out in it). With the pool comes some fan and pump noise but really just white noise and never an issue (turndown service gives earplugs if you are concerned about such things). Overall——what a great room! ||Facilities. Be prepared to walk and plenty of stairs (although they have golf-carts and drivers at the ready if needed). Argos is a museum in itself with plenty of Cappadocia marvels on property and includes inspiring views of the valley. They have pools, a gym, a spa and all the things you would expect of such a property. We have no doubt all wonderful but aside from the room, the grounds, and the restaurants, we did little sampling of the rest. A worthy experience is a free tour of the resort which highlight one of the largest wine cellars in Turkey, and a segment of an ancient tunnel not to be missed. ||Dining. Two restaurants on property. We enjoyed the Seki twice and the Nahita once. The breakfast included in the reservation is served at Nahita and one of the best we have experienced. Both have cocktail lounges good for a visit before/after dinner or a light lunch and cocktails with inspiring views. Both Seki and Nahita could stand alone outside the resort with high-level dining and I will review separately. Bottom line….both well worthy of this resort.||Staff. Staff makes the property and Argos has the staff. From grounds keepers to concierge, all at the ready to serve with upbeat friendly attitude, and expertly trained for such. The leadership is prominent and a memorable experience for their guests clearly an unwavering goal. They nail it. Most staff have a good command of English and this was certainly appreciated as my Turkish is weak (nonexistent). Quick access to staff through WhatsApp (now an industry standard) makes any and all requests easy. The staff will elevate your time at Argos to an unforgettable experience. ||Tips. Whatever you want…not my business however if you like to tip, keep in mind a 10% service charge on all transactions and no ability to “write in” additional gratuity so cash is king. ||Membership/Loyalty Program. Property is part of DOĞUŞ HOSPITALITY. With that, no real push for any program aside from pretty brochure of other properties in the suites. ||We are rather experienced travelers and Argos certainly makes the short-list of our favorites. Attention to detail, awe-inspiring grounds, and genuine staff sets them apart. Oh and consider splurging like we did, the Splendid suite is…….splendid. ...
Read moreWe just finished our stay at Argos in Cappadocia and to say it was epic is an understatement. The service was outstanding throughout. So many staff and they ALL seemed to know our name as we passed through the grounds. I appreciate the name tags and everyone that we met introduced themselves. A few of the names that went above and beyond to help us: Sema, Ali, Emre, Huner, Kadir, Berke, Murat, Nihat, Yalcin, and Yagmur. Thank you. We had a suite room which had two living areas , luggage area, bedroom, bathroom and even FRESH FLOWERS! We didn’t have a view of the countryside but we had a sitting area available for multiple rooms that we could utilize and wasn’t used by others while we were there—so sort of private!! The bed and turn down service was great. Since the hotel rooms are splattered throughout they have many golf carts on hand and they are there faster than you are ready!! They are so efficient that we ordered room service for a specific time. They were 10 minutes early and remade my salad because they didn’t want it to wilt in the 10 minutes for us to be back to our room. The spa is stupidly epic!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! The staff is great. We did the couples “Cappadocia Journey” which included a hammam scrub down, time in the hot tub (which is actually a cooler temperature, but delightful), a 50 minute massage of your choice, and a 30 minute head massage. This treatment was 600 euros for 2 1/2 hours of pampering and so much better than the two massages we had the week previous in Positano, Italy. My point—the prices are very reasonable for the experience you have. Additionally, the spa is just gorgeous and was redone last year. Onto the pool—so relaxing. The pool staff was amazing. Even gave us a fruit plate upon arrival and moist towels as we sat. The drinks we also delicious. The pool temperature was delightful in May. Onto the restaurants—we did both. Again, the staff were fabulous at both and the food was great. We typically shared 3 apps and got our own main. I know the menu will change seasonally but we really liked were shrimp casserole, octopus carpaccio, terra cotta Turkish dish, Turkish potato chips, beef liver, tomato salad with pomegranates, pan grilled chickpeas and Nevşehir tava. The hotel offer daily tours of the grounds and its history each night at 6 pm, lasting about 45 minutes. Totally worth doing. We also did the private wine tasting of 6 of the hotel’s wines in the cave cellar and loved the experience with Nihat. Like I said—just freaking amazing!! Outside of the hotel, we booked the “comfort” hot air balloon ride from Turquaz Balloons and also highly recommend...
