I will try to explain our experience in Millocal Restaurant without being biased so that everyone can make their own mind before visiting this place:
When we went there, although we made a reservation by phone for four person, our table was not ready. We were placed at a very far corner in the restaurant (which I am not saying is a bad thing considering the restaurant is very crowded and busy but) where service staff was not looking at all so we made a great effort to order things... The service staff poured water on one of us while serving, however did not do or say a thing. We had to ask to another service staff to come and wipe off. We ordered 'kuru patlıcan dolması', 'taze labneli patlıcan salatası' and 'humuslu kokoreç'. The rice in dolma and kokoreç were not cooked properly. We ate the dolma anyways however kokoreç was impossible to eat. So we told this to a service staff but he did not make any comments and left the table without saying A THING! Then we made an effort to reach to another service staff who was kinder and accepted to cancel the kokoreç order. Taze labneli patlıcan salatası was very tasty. We ordered testi kebabı for main dish, it was ok. We ordered katmer as a dessert and it was also ok. None of the food came with proper service, we constantly kept asking for napkins, forks, spoons etc. The service staff constantly brought things that we did not order during the time we were there.
Based on these reasons, we found the restaurant very illogical to visit since it is expensive visavis the service and the taste of the food. We would not recommend the place...
Read moreWe were very excited to see this place. Read so many great reviews and made a reservation before hand. They sent us the menu beforehand to ask us to choose. Even though we told them our preferences 2 days in advance, the menus kept coming all wrong. They combined some of the servings from the same menu and caused a lot of confusion around who’s food is what. Everything came very late. They told us we only had 2 hours at the table but the main courses weren’t even served after 1.5 hours. So many dishes from the set menu were missing and everything was mixed up. They completely forgot the deserts and when we told them to bring the deserts so that we can leave, they said the kitchen was closed and they reopened the kitchen and made them from scratch. We had to wait for 20 min for a desert that was part of a fixed menu that they knew about 2 days ago. The food was so much and impossible to finish. There was so much inevitable food waste as a result as well. Overall it was a very chaotic experience, nothing was organized and everything was very slow and problematic. The taste of the food itself was good but the overall experience from start to finish was very disorganized and...
Read moreFirst night that we arrived in kapadokya, our hotel owner highly recommended this place, so we trusted the guy since he looked very kind and honest and walked into this place! Let me be honest, the place looks amazing! They build a high class chic restaurant but unfortunately their food was not as impressive as their decor. After a couple unsatisfying dish that we ordered, I found myself staring at my almost untouched dish that unfortunately costed over $40 a plate and I'm thinking to myself, although I’m starving I cannot eat it even if they paid me $40! Why would you want to eat Italian in the middle of Turkey specialty when you are visiting a historical beautiful city such as Kapadokya and dying to learn more about their amazing culture and taste their world famous cousin?! Sure the dishes were beautifully prepared but really if I want to look at art, I'll go to a museum. If I want to eat Italian I would visit Italy! Personally I'd rather go to a place where I can get a yummy food instead of a classy decor, relax with my family and just have...
