I have been a returning customer to Nawab’s at Acacia Mall over the years, but my recent experience was not only disappointing—it was unacceptable by any reasonable hospitality standard.

To my surprise, the restaurant failed to provide even the most basic essentials such as napkins, tissue paper, or even a complimentary salad, which has consistently been part of the service in the past. When I raised the concern directly and politely with the manager, rather than acknowledging the lapse or offering a courteous explanation, he chose to emphasize that the salad is a “complimentary item”—implying that it is subject to their discretion whether or not to serve it.

This dismissive attitude was deeply unprofessional. Matters worsened when I sought further clarification: the manager raised his voice, adopted an aggressive tone, and stated he reserves the “right of admission”, essentially threatening me instead of addressing the concern in a constructive or respectful manner. He then walked away mid-conversation, abandoning any pretense of customer service.

Despite this, I paid my bill in full and left without consuming the food, not wishing to engage further in an environment so evidently lacking in courtesy or accountability.

This incident reflects poorly on the management’s understanding of both hospitality norms and basic customer respect. I sincerely hope the ownership or senior oversight team takes this as a prompt to reassess their approach toward...

Great view, better staff, great prices.

Lots of service, except it resulted in cross billing. No harm done, I spotted it immediately. Rectifying took a bit longer than I expected though.

I'm trying it again today to determine if it's a one-off. I sincerely expect it was.....

...

Over time (2 yrs) I've come here about once every two weeks. It has always struck me as odd how much the staff changed here; l?churned? A visit 2 days ago may explain this ... I asked for their WiFi sign password token (I've received it almost every time including when their WiFi is down). My lastest visit I was lied to. 'The WiFi is down, sir' ... It wasn't and I showed the gal. So she covered and said 'there are no more WiFI tokens, sir' ... Likely another lie they open at 11h and it was 14h AND I saw another waitress pass a token to an Indian couple (maybe the last one ???) Hmmmm. Later, I saw a gal in the mall that formally worked there ... When I asked her about my incident ... She was agitated and probably blushing (she is Ugandan) ... She confirmed their bias they have against all people except Indians.

Expect poor service and no follow up from management. I've tried several times ... Nothing!

I'll not return for a plethora of...

Food taste was good but they served food after an hour, even after requesting them to make it ASAP and when they served food it was not worthy as it was cold.

When I asked them they simoly said sorry nothing else.

For rice when I asked waitress that please give me spoon they said we eat rice with fork trust me I felt dumb while asking this.

It is customer who decide how to eat what to eat.

Food is expensive but poor service.

I saw 3 to 4 waitresses eating something at the time of work, if they will do so then who is going to take care of customers, I am not offended of their choice of eating but it reduces workforce.

I ordered Two vegetable curries, 3 soup, 6 chapati, 1 dall and one rice and my bill was UGX 200,000 - man that was expensive and even after making such payment food and service was not satisfactory.

I think they should work on service part as food is to be served as it is hot not cold.

I will never recommend anyone going there until and unless they don't made improvement in their...

Nawab Asian Bistro is one of my favourite Asian restaurants in Uganda. Great location on top of Acacia mall in Kololo. Really good safe and secure parking and easy access. The restaurant it’s self is a bit dated, the decor is a bit old and probably need a revamp if you ask me. But the food is really nice, I’ve tried loads of things from the menu and you honestly can’t go wrong if you like Asian food. I love spicy food so please make sure to let the waitresses know how spicy you like it. The views from the outdoor space are really nice, you also get a lovely sunset. Time it right and it will make the evening that little bit more special. Customer service was good, friendly and helpful, they just need to be a bit more attentive. Food didn’t take too long to be served and tasted fresh so I can’t complain. Prices are reasonable too, expect to pay around £20-30 for a 3 course meal and drinks for 2. Definitely some work to be done on the interior, really needs updating. Food wise really good 4 stars for me.
