Mam has been dealing with deteriorating vision for a couple of years now, and after several recommendations from friends and family, we decided to visit Georgina Eye Hospital in Kampala. The clinic's reputation for compassionate care and expertise in eye health made me feel hopeful.
Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the warm and tranquil environment. The staff at the reception were welcoming, and despite my nervousness, their smiles put me at ease. The clinic itself was clean, with a small flower garden that added a touch of serenity to the place.
Mam's initial consultation was with Dr. Juliet Otiti Sengeri, whose reputation preceded her. She was not only highly professional but also incredibly kind, taking the time to explain everything in detail. She conducted a thorough examination, using advanced equipment that felt reassuringly modern. After the tests, she diagnosed Mam with cataracts, something I had suspected but was now confirmed.
What stood out during her treatment journey was the hospital's conservative approach to surgery. Dr. Otiti explained that they only recommend surgery when absolutely necessary, which made me feel confident She was in good hands. We decided to monitor her condition with regular check-ups before committing to any surgical intervention.
The follow-up visits were just as comforting. The hospital's team, from the nurses to the administrative staff, all knew me by name, making each visit feel personal. The clinic's commitment to patient education was evident; I left each appointment with a better understanding of Mams' condition and options.
What truly made my experience at Georgina Eye Hospital memorable was not just the successful treatment of my cataracts but the human touch throughout my journey. They didn't just treat mam's eyes; they cared for her as a person. The legacy of Dr. John Otiti, now carried by his daughter, is one of excellence in eye care combined with genuine warmth, making me feel like part of an extended family rather than just another patient.
Mam is now seeing the world with much clearer vision, but more than that, I'm grateful for the compassionate care she received at Georgina Eye Hospital. It's an experience I'll recommend to anyone in need...

Read moreVisited on Saturday to do a thorough check up of my eyes. The technician was very helpful and did all the tests well but the doctor didn’t seem to know what she was doing. She told me that I had to get my eyes medicated but refused to tell me how the medicine would be administered (turns out it has to be an injection to my eye) despite my many requests for more information. She even laughed at me like I didn’t need to know what was going on with my own eyes. I also plaid a lot of money to get the tests done but had to ask for the reports to be printed out. The doctor never provided an official document/prescription with her findings. When I asked for it from the receptionist, they said that it would be emailed to me but I have still not...
