Belgian Café Yas Island — Restaurant in Abu Dhabi

I asked for nuts 3 times to two different servers and never received any. I left already.

I asked the server what is the house specials. He showed me and I asked if the rum is included he said yes. After that a lady came and took the order. I clearly asked for rum and coke for 2 me and my wife.

When I went to pay my bill was 180. But I had 2 drinks only. They said they poored double shot and price is double. Firstly I didn't request a double and no one anyway told me as on the menu the drink I showed them which I pointed at to the server showed 55.

When I was disputing the payment the lady informed me that rum was not in happy hour. How!!??! The guy told me it is and when I ordered I clearly said the rum on happy hour to which she said okay.

So if I ask if someone is on happy hour one says yes and next one no? When I point to a drink on the menu that is 55 and they charge me 110?? When I asked for nuts and got nothing?

I was served by a man and a lady who is sadly from South Africa, which is sad as I didn't expect it from my people.

As a regular guest of BBC in Dubai I was excited to visit one on Yas, however was surprised on menu inconsistency especially for beer prices. Understandably different Emirate, different offer, but this is the only place in Abu Dhabi I know that is way more expensive than sister venues in Dubai. Great variety, but 65aed for a pint is mental. At a sports bar. Food was okay, staff were nice. Value for money? Not really.

Update: The food somehow got worse, and I won’t lie, it might be the worst pub food I’ve had to date. The 4 prawns( they only look big because of the giant head) for over 100aed with 0 flavor (the bread was okay) The chicken platter? DOUBLE FRIED CHICKEN FRIES WITH 3/4 of it a horrible overly hard over cooked batter, MINCE CHICKEN BURGERS??? And okay chicken wings. How it took 25minutes to prepare, when in an empty restaurant with 1 other table (not dining tho)? Waitress didn’t offer nuts ( gave to other tables tho)

You lost a star from the absolutely horrendous food and it would be 1*, but I’m glad to see the beer price was amended to more reasonable

Overall meh. I rather drive up the road to YAS Waterfront and pick any place there than try the YAS Belgian...

I generally stay in the Radisson Blu Yas Island for my extended business trips and the Belgium Beer Café is my go to place most nights for a couple beers/cidres and dinner. It has two awesome happy hours specials every night (17:00-19:00 and 22:00-24:00). Good selection of draft beer and a ton of great bottled selections. The food is always tasty with huge portions. I don’t believe I’ve had anything I do not like. Although I particularly like the bangers and mash and schnitzels here. There’s always live sports on multiple screens around the entire place. I doubt there is any table that can’t see one of them. The manager and all the staff are super friendly and always stops to say hello.
