As an intercontinental hotel guest dinner was included in my booking, the hotel provides coupons for dinner in 3 different restaurants including Byblos I booked a reservation at the hotel reception for 6 at 7 PM and requested to be seated in the outside area, i went to the restaurant and met the responsible man his name is Kamal at the entrance and informed him that i have a booking for 6 at the outside are surprisingly the guy denied my booking and said there is no reservation at all! i told him please contact the reception and get a confirmation from them with my booking, he called the reception and got the confirmation with the booking again he stated that we cannot be seated in the outside area as it is fully booked! and it was not! he said to me you will have to set inside and he was absolutely very rood and treated me and my family as if we were having coupons from a homeless shelter or for free! The set menu was supposed to have a specific type of food which was not served fully for us specially the desert. The waiters were also very rood and putting the plates on the table in a very rood manner and they were upset with our existence at the restaurant! I had my sister with me as i have invited her for dinner with my family and i was very upset and i thought about leaving but i was embarrassed in front of my sister so i decided to stay and not show my anger. for about an hour and a half and the whole outside area were fully empty until we have left! I went back to the hotel and complained about the issue and met with a manager who was very understanding and helpful i am writing this review as i noticed that it is a repeated issue with the hotel guests and i hope that the hotel management will stop this bad behavior ASAP and to inform the Byblos staff that the guests coupons are not for free and to treat guests with at least some respect! attached is a photo for the outside area when i was leaving showing it...
Read moreThis was one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been to (coming from an Arab). I went to this “restaurant” for Eid Al Adha and I am so dissatisfied and deceived with everything that it offers. I entered the restaurant with high hopes seing that they were selected by Michelin to get one of their stars but what happened next was a disservice to Middle Eastern cuisine. As soon as I sat down, I heard the extremely loud foolery of music being played by a beautiful women and her band to distract the people from their horrendous food. The music was way too loud and was hurting my and other people’s eardrums. I could not even talk to my wife without shouting my heart out. I asked the servers to lower the volume multiple times and all they did was ignore me. I felt very disrespected. I even talked to their manager about this before leaving. The food I ate was bland, unseasoned and a disgrace to Lebanese cuisine. I ate sausages that tasted like they had food poisoning and their mtabal that were bitter, flavorless and unseasoned. In addition to the raw meat that p was overly processed and it’s flavors were lacking. Their fattoush (Lebanese salad) was average at best. I could not take anymore of the pain inducing music and the disgraceful food so I decided to leave as soon as I could. In conclusion, I heavily advise you to steer clear from this “restaurant” and I only recommend you to go if you are trying to poison your...
Read moreIf you value respect, professionalism, or basic human decency, avoid Byblos at all costs. The restaurant itself might be serviceable, but the behavior of the afternoon manager is appalling enough to ruin the entire experience.
Instead of greeting guests warmly, this man plants himself at the entrance like a self-appointed fashion police, brazenly scanning women from head to toe and making openly rude, sexist remarks about their appearance. His comments are not subtle, nor are they professional—they are demeaning, excessive, and dripping with arrogance. Rather than fostering an atmosphere of hospitality, he manages to humiliate and belittle female guests before they’ve even taken a seat.
It is shocking that a supposedly reputable establishment allows this kind of behavior to continue unchecked. Restaurants should create welcoming environments for all patrons, not cultivate a culture where women are disrespected the moment they walk in.
Until Byblos takes accountability and replaces this manager with someone who understands the meaning of courtesy and inclusivity, I would strongly recommend steering clear. Abu Dhabi has far too many excellent dining options to waste time or money in a place that tolerates this kind...
