Hamilton's Gastropub — Restaurant in Abu Dhabi

I tried the English breakfast but I immediately noticed that the place was empty even on a Friday morning. Bad omens. I have to say it was awful; cooked by somebody who has never eaten or understood an English breakfast in their life. The bacon was burnt to a crisp and black; like putting charcoal in your mouth. I don't get it? Why bother to expend so much money to have a separate pork kitchen and then do such a bad job so no customers even bother to come to the restaurant?? Full marks for deterring paying customers I suppose if that's the goal? Really? Cooking a good English breakfast is simple guys...it's not rocket science. Please employ an English chef for an English restaurant otherwise it will never be English! Oosh ..if it was my business I would be sorting it out. [Update 28/1/2021..decided to give them another chance; this time for dinner. I ordered the Pork Ribs. They appeared to be very nice but were served cold which I discovered as soon as I cut into them .. I mean stone cold. Absolutely awful experience here, I really don't understand the previous good reviews. Service was terrible, atmosphere was poor as smoking allowed inside. Food was terrible. Service - we booked however it took a while for them to find our booking after we were told they were fully booked. We were told to go and sit over there and not shown to our table. We waited a long time before drink and food order was taken. Food took a while then starters and mains all arrived at the same time, one of our mains didn't arrive at all but we had lost the will to live so left it as it was. Our second drinks order was incorrect. After we had been there an hour and a half we gave up on them coming to clear away our mains. Service wasn't friendly, we felt unwelcome. Food - no halloumi starter available. Ordered the honey chicken where they must have used the worst pieces of chicken ever - literally deep fried chicken fat and gristle. The buffalo chicken burger for mains was actually quite good. I'm really not sure what there is to like...

I was here with 6 friends to watch a football game. There was no commentary and instead they had horrible music. I came in late so my friends had already ordered, so I asked for the menu and the waitress got me the drinks menu.

I ordered the grapes mocktail and asked for the food menu as I wanted a snack or dinner. They brought the menu 10 minutes after and never came back to take my order even after they got the drink, so I never ordered. Utterly disappointed because the same waitress gave so much attention to the couple right next to us and asked how the food was, smiling to them, etc. but that wasn’t the case for me. I think it is because of the way I was dressed (national dress) and nationality, as our neighbors were Europeans. The mocktail was very good and loved the intense grapes and smoked sugar taste.
