**Dinner Disappointment: Zero Review
Last evening, my anticipation for a delightful dinner experience quickly turned into a frustrating and underwhelming encounter. Based on the rave reviews I had come across, I decided to try out a local restaurant that promised an innovative menu and a cozy ambiance. However, my experience was far from satisfying.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by an unkempt entrance who was busy with phone and a noticeably disorganized seating area. The host seemed overwhelmed and inattentive, taking an unusual amount of time to seat us We finally settled at a table that wobbled, necessitating frequent adjustments for comfort.
Once seated, it took far too long for our server to approach us making us feel more like an inconvenience than valued guests. We placed our orders, hoping the food would redeem the poor service, but we were in for a letdown.
We started with an appetizer that was described as âcrispy Family meal .â What arrived was a greasy portion, drenched in a heavy, bland batter. There was no hint of seasoning, and the roasted was chewy rather than tender, leading to the unappetizing thought that perhaps they had been sitting under a heat lamp for too long.
For the main course, I chose the signature Handi dish, which was heralded as a house specialty. Sadly, this was a misstep as well. The handi was overcooked and gummy, lacking the al dente texture one expects from a quality pakistani dish.
My dining partner opted for the grilled hoping for a healthy, flavorful choice. Unfortunately, the kebab and chicken was overcooked and extremely dry. Instead of the promised herbed glaze, its flavor was monotonous, and the accompanying vegetables were hardly worth mentioningâthey were under-seasoned and bland, almost as an afterthought.
In conclusion, our dinner turned out to be a disappointing experience, overshadowed by subpar food and lackluster service. What should have been an enjoyable evening turned into a mirthless quest for flavor that left us feeling frustrated and unsatisfied. With so many dining options available, it's unlikely that I will return, as there are too many restaurants out there that can deliver both great food and excellent service. Itâs a shame, really, as the potential was there, but it clearly...
Read moreFood was good! Disappointed in the service of their Main person at Al khan Branch.... didn't like the behavior of the manager. The primary waiter serving us was good. but few others kept asking me to ask my family to hurry up with the food as they have more people waiting. We had around 20 people dining there as it was first come first serve... which they told us on phone while we wanted to reserve and book before hand. Even after paying a hefty bill of around 700 AED. yet while leaving my kids were in the bathroom and the manager asked us to leave... he asked us which table are you on? just leave by saying Aap niklain. Apki table konsi hai. ap log niklain.. never has anyone asked us this at a restaurant. Their valet drivers hadn't brought our cars from the parking. I know the restaurant was crowded we were not occupying any of the tables after paying the bill. we were just waiting on the kids as they were using the restroom upstairs. Later, he forcefully told one of our guests that i misunderstood what he wanted to say... after insulting me by saying niklain niklain... means leave leave.... Mind it some of my Guests were visiting from Scotland and myself we live in Abu Dhabi which is almost 2 hrs 30 mins drive from here. as my parents live in Sharjah we hosted a dinner there. Will I host a dinner there again? NO. to me the behavior is the most important thing. Please guys Don't take a large number of people there as they will embarrass you by asking you to leave or disturbing your guests by asking...
Read moreI recently visited Nayab Handi in Al Khan after hearing quite a bit about their Pakistani cuisine, and I have to say the food definitely lived up to the hype. The flavors were rich, authentic, and clearly crafted with care. The Chicken Handi was creamy and well-spiced, the BBQ platter was juicy and perfectly grilled, and the naan was fresh and softâjust the way it should be. Their biryani also deserves a special mention for its aroma and balanced spice. If you're a fan of desi flavors, this place absolutely hits the mark when it comes to taste.
That said, the service left a lot to be desired. We had to wait quite a while to get someoneâs attention for even basic things like water or cutlery. Despite the restaurant not being overly crowded at the time, the staff seemed overwhelmed or possibly understaffed. Orders took longer than expected to arrive, and there was minimal follow-up once the food was served. It wouldâve made a big difference if the service was more attentive and customer-focused.
The ambiance is decentânothing fancy but clean and family-friendly. Parking was a bit tricky but manageable.
Overall, Nayab Handi is a solid spot for great food but needs significant improvement in service to make the dining experience truly enjoyable. I'd definitely go back for the food, but I hope they step up their service game soon. With just a bit more attention to customer care, this could easily become one of the top Pakistani...
