Title: A Flavorful Pakistani Delight in muwaileh, sharjah
Rating: ★★★★☆
I recently had the pleasure of dining at a newly opened restaurant in sharjah, and I must say that the chicken kabab I had there was truly exceptional. In fact, it was the best chicken kabab I have ever tasted in any Pakistani restaurant in UAE. The flavors were rich, the meat was tender, and the spices were perfectly balanced. It was a delight for my taste buds, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious Pakistani dish.
The malai boti chicken, while not as outstanding as the chicken kabab, was still enjoyable. The flavors were good, and the chicken was tender, but it didn't quite reach the same level of excellence as the kabab. Nevertheless, it was a decent dish that satisfied my cravings for Pakistani cuisine.
On the other hand, the chicken tikka was a bit of a letdown. It was average in terms of taste and didn't quite stand out compared to the other dishes I tried. While it wasn't terrible by any means, it didn't leave a lasting impression.
One dish that surprised me was the chicken paneer. It had a unique taste that reminded me of white sauce pasta. It was different from anything I had tried before, and I found it to be quite enjoyable. The combination of flavors was interesting, and it was a pleasant departure from the usual fare.
Moving on to the beverages, I ordered the mint crush drink, which unfortunately turned out to be very sour. The tartness of the drink was overpowering and not to my liking. It's worth noting that taste preferences can vary, so others may enjoy it, but it didn't appeal to me personally.
The ambiance of the restaurant was great. The interior was well-designed, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The seating was comfortable, and the staff was friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout my dining experience.
As a customer with a baby, I was surprised to find that the restaurant did not have a high chair available.I would like to believe that this was an oversight that will be rectified in the near future. I encourage the management to consider investing in a high chair, as it would greatly enhance the convenience and comfort of families with young children
In conclusion, the newly opened restaurant impressed me with its outstanding chicken kabab, which was the best I have had in sharjah from any Pakistani restaurant. The malai boti chicken and chicken paneer were also enjoyable, albeit not as remarkable. The chicken tikka was average, lacking the wow factor. While the mint crush drink was too sour for my taste, the overall ambiance of the restaurant was fantastic. I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant for a flavorful Pakistani...
Read moreI visited the Bannu Beef Nalli Pulao restaurant in Al Qasimia, Sharjah. The establishment offers authentic Pakistani cuisine, specializing in the signature Bannu-style Nalli Pulao.
The restaurant, which is also known as Grill Delight Restaurant. It has a modest but neat exterior with outdoor seating on artificial turf, Inside, the dining area is bright and contemporary with comfortable blue seating and wooden tables. The "About Us" section of the menu highlights the founders' dedication to quality, hygiene, and bringing the real taste of Gujrat, Pakistan to the Gulf.
The primary item ordered was the Special Bannu Nalli Pulao Half Kg (Dh14.50), along with a Water (Dh1.00), totaling Dh15.50 plus 5% TAX (Dh0.74). The restaurant's reputation is built on its signature dish, which is described as being made with a "secret recipe," "fresh meat (bone marrow)," and aromatic rice. But as far as I am concerned, I didn't feel much taste except a beef pulao with a piece of bone marrow in it. While the presence of the bone marrow (Nalli) is a key traditional feature and clearly visible in the dish's promotional imagery, the overall flavor profile of the rice and meat was underwhelming, lacking the expected complexity and "bold spices" mentioned in the restaurant's own description. A significant drawback was the high amount of oil. It is too oily, as Pakistani food is often known to be too much oily, which detracted from the enjoyment of the dish and might not appeal to everyone. The menu also featured other items like Signature Fish (Half kg for Dh19.00) and Malai Chargha (Half for Dh24.00), suggesting a diverse offering beyond the Pulao.
Bannu Beef Nalli Pulao Restaurant clearly fills a niche for those seeking traditional Pakistani, Gujrat-style cuisine in the UAE. Its popularity is evident in its growth to over nine branches. However, the signature Nalli Pulao, while authentic in its use of bone marrow, fell short on flavor complexity and was excessively oily. It might appeal most to customers who appreciate the richness and oiliness common in some traditional Pakistani dishes, but it may disappoint those expecting a lighter or more intensely spiced experience. They provide free parking in the covered parking. It is a little far from restaurant and you have to show a free parking stamp from restaurant in your food bill. No people of determination entrance. Read moreThis restaurant was an instant hit for me. I visited them on 2nd day of Eid after watching their promotion deal on Instagram. I knew that they'll be very busy so I planned on reserving a table. On first Eid day they weren't taking reservations but I was lucky enough to secure a table for 2nd day. I was constantly in touch with them via phone and Instagram and they're very responsive on calls. I went there and to my surprise the interior was top-notch, I have never seen such exquisite interior in a desi restaurant in UAE. As soon as I entered their staff quickly came to greet us and we were seated at our reserved table. It them took 15-20 mins to prepare our food and it was served sizzling hot. The food was delicious and authentic desi, was not heavy on stomach. Quantity was more than enough. Their staff was continuously on their feet to make sure we are enjoying our time. I really enjoyed their ambiance and hospitality. Ms. Amna was our server and I couldn’t be happier, she was so energetic, attentive, and polite. We got our leftovers packed and their humble server accompanied us to our car.
For the negative reviews here I would like to just clarify one thing, please be polite and civilized, don’t go to any restaurant on public holidays or festivals without reservations. Unfortunately most people don’t know this practice of reservation whereas it’s very common in the West. I have been to Pierre Whites’s restaurant (Michelin star) and even there I made my bookings before. You just don’t show up to any restaurant and expect them to have a table free for you when it’s clearly a very busy day. I saw many families showing up without reservations and being rude with staff for not having a free table while the staff kept apologizing. These people are not your servants. They are here to make your experience worthwhile but only if you let them. They are literally here to serve you food, but if they are out of space or food because of crowd on a holiday, they cannot do anything about it. They are not deliberately refusing you service.
Highly recommended....
