Cantina Continental & Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Dubai

The experience at Cantina 1810 is what you would remember more than anything else.. We went on a Sunday (a working day) evening. The place was not that occupied so had a choice of tables. We were offered the largest table in the place. The table was so big that the five of us could have comfortably slept on it.

The staff were very friendly in their Mexican attire complete with the Mexican sombrero but fortunately spoke English instead of Spanish :-)

We ordered Tacos de pescado, Tacos de pollo, quesadillas, Nachos supreme and Sizzling Fajitas. None of which disappointed.. would have loved it if the salt was a bit more but then I won't know if it was inappropriate as it has been almost 20 years since I had my first meal in Mexico city in 1999.

Loved the complimentary plain nachos with dips served in the beginning. Sizzling Fajitas is a close second. Rest competes for the 3rd spot. But as I said before the experience is awesome and the staff to go with it.

I don't understand how this restaurant got 4-star on Groupon. We arrived at the place at 13.20 for lunch, they took our orders and served the complimentary nachos 20 mins after we arrived. The appetizer was served after 45 mins of waiting and the place was not crowded as there were only 3 tables occupied including us. We waited another half hour to get the main course. We ordered beef nachos but they served us chicken. Salsa tasted store-bought and the chimichanga is not fried. Churros is horrible. When we present our Groupon Voucher, they told us that they need the printed copy when it is indicated in the voucher that "they accept e-Voucher" so the waiter who is also their cashier asked us to go to the reception area to have the voucher printed. At the reception, the lady was not aware about the promotion and asked us to go back to the restaurant. It took us 3x to explain to her that we need the printed voucher. Very inconvenient; very...

Purchased a voucher for this venue, made a reservation, drove across town, sat down, and got told that voucher no longer gets accepted (even still in date) and that reservation is nit valid.

A few months ago we tried to make a reservation, called multiple times, after plenty of failed attempts to reach someone in the restaurant, the reception staff took my number, and advised me that someone would call back... which never happens.

Restaurant looks nothing like the pictures. Looks more like a cafeteria.

Very poor experience! Wasted time and money. Date night...
